Today we’d like to introduce you to Janyl Ventura.
Hi Janyl, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in New Jersey and made the decision to move to Georgia to attend the University of Georgia, partly because I wanted the full experience of a big SEC school, and partly because I wanted to challenge myself by building a life far from home. I’m also a first-generation college graduate. Both of my parents immigrated from the Dominican Republic, so earning that degree meant a great deal to me and my entire family.
After graduating, I moved to Atlanta and spent nearly a decade in corporate sales. Those years taught me how to build real relationships, solve problems under pressure, and communicate in a way that actually moves people, skills I rely on every single day. I earned my real estate license in 2020, though at the time it was more of a side interest while I remained focused on my corporate career.
In 2023, I was laid off, and it turned out to be the biggest blessing in disguise. Instead of rushing back into another corporate role, I took it as an opportunity to pursue things I had always been drawn to but never fully committed to. I’ve always had a natural eye for photography and video. I was usually the one with a camera, documenting everything, but I had never considered turning that into something real. That moment of uncertainty pushed me to do exactly that.
It led me into content creation, UGC, affiliate marketing, and social media strategy. I’ve since worked with brands across technology, fitness, sports, and consumer products, while also building income streams through TikTok Shop, Amazon Influencer, and brand partnerships.
At the same time, I went all in on real estate, and what started as a side pursuit is now my full-time focus. Today I work with buyers and sellers throughout Atlanta and the surrounding metro area.
Looking back, none of it seemed connected at the time but it all was. Sales taught me people. Content creation taught me storytelling. Real estate gave me a place to bring it all together. I’m genuinely grateful that a setback pushed me to explore what I was actually capable of.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not, and I think it’s important to be honest about that.
One of the earliest challenges was building a life in Atlanta while my entire family remained in New Jersey. In my twenties, figuring out how to create a career, real friendships, and a support system from scratch without the safety net of family nearby wasn’t easy. There were also stretches where money was genuinely tight. At one point I was juggling three jobs simultaneously just to cover bills and make a dent in my student loans.
The layoff in 2023 was its own kind of difficult. I had spent years building something in corporate sales, and losing that overnight forced me to question a lot of things. It was stressful and uncertain, and I won’t pretend otherwise. In hindsight it opened doors I may have never walked through, but in the moment it didn’t feel that way.
Entrepreneurship brought a completely different set of challenges. There’s no guaranteed paycheck, no employer-sponsored benefits, and no one handing you a roadmap. There were months where income was unpredictable and the weight of every decision fell entirely on me. Social media tends to highlight the wins, the freedom, the flexibility, the highlights, but not the unglamorous reality of managing your own finances, hunting for clients, and pushing through the months where nothing seems to be working.
What those experiences gave me, though, is perspective. They taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to play the long game. I’ve learned that setbacks are rarely the end of anything. More often than not, they’re just the part of the story that eventually makes everything else make sense.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At its core, my business is built on helping people, whether that means guiding a family through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives, or helping a brand show up online in a way that actually resonates.
My primary focus today is real estate. I work with buyers and sellers throughout Atlanta and the surrounding metro area, and I specialize in making a process that can feel overwhelming feel clear, informed, and manageable. Whether someone is purchasing their first home or selling a property they’ve held for years, I take that responsibility seriously.
Alongside real estate, I work with brands as a content creator and creative strategist. I’ve partnered with companies across technology, fitness, wellness, sports, and consumer products, creating short-form video content, managing social media, and producing Meta ads that build trust and drive real results. I’ve worked with brands in the AI, SaaS, and fintech space, and I’ve developed additional revenue streams through TikTok Shop and Amazon Influencer.
What sets me apart is that I don’t come from a conventional real estate or marketing background, and I think that’s actually an advantage. Almost a decade in corporate sales taught me how to truly listen to people, communicate with clarity, and stay focused on solving problems rather than just closing deals. I bring that same mindset to every client and every brand partnership.
What I’m most proud of is that none of this was handed to me, and none of it happened overnight. Building a business that sustains itself, one that feels authentic to who I am and the experiences that shaped me, is something I worked hard for and don’t take lightly. Whether someone is trusting me with their home purchase or their brand, I show up the same way every time, focused on relationships, honest communication, and results that actually last.
