Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Precise.

Hi Jay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in music at five years old. My mother played piano and drums, and my father played the bass guitar and had a singing group. I started learning piano at an early age; around that time, I was raised up in the church singing in the choir. Then I started to branch out of my own learning other instruments, playing guitar, saxophone, piano, and drums. Music has always been a passion of mine, so I went to school to get my bachelor’s in music production, and I’ve been creating music over the years and getting better at my craft.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s been some ups and downs. There was a time I felt like my music just wasn’t getting heard no matter how good it was or how I tried to promote it. So I stopped for a while. I started working at regular job until I got injured in a bad car accident trying to save someone life. I was walking when the SUV hit me and it took me out of my field of work, but it brought me back into the field of music and I’ve been at it every since

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an independent artist, producer, songwriter, DJ, I specialize in Southern Soul, R&B, hip-hop, and gospel-inspired music that blends real storytelling, emotion, nightlife energy, and Southern culture into one sound. As DJ Precise, “The Master of Crowd Control,” I’m also known for creating high-energy live experiences and building strong connections with crowds.

What I’m most proud of is being able to stay independent while building my brand through music, entertainment, visuals, and live events. I take pride in creating authentic music that people can relate to whether it’s for the club, relationships, inspiration, or real-life struggles.

What sets me apart is my versatility and originality. I don’t just make songs I create experiences. I’m deeply involved in every part of my craft, from writing and production to branding and performance, while always staying true to my R&B/Southern roots and authentic sound.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is leaving behind a meaningful legacy through my music and creative work. I want my art to be more than entertainment I want it to tell stories, create emotion, inspire people, and give the world a real piece of who I am and where I come from.

Music allows me to connect with people on a personal level, and my goal is to create timeless work that people can relate to, remember, and carry with them for years to come. I take pride in building something authentic that reflects my passion, creativity, culture, and life experiences while making a lasting impact through my sound and artistry.
