Life & Work with Jessica Able of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Able.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I feel like my story started a long time ago. I’ve always been a helper, a sharer. and I guess inevitably a teacher. In some ways, I feel like I’ve been running from that idea of being a teacher because teachers they respected weren’t compensated as I feel like they should’ve been. Honestly, you would have no other profession if you didn’t have a teacher first. Nonetheless, I’ve done a lot of things to get me to my career, and I realize the common thread through them has been coaching, teaching and growing people. In each position, both corporate and independent that I’ve held. I’ve been in position of Coach or teacher. So now I’ve decided to branch out and do it on purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road because first of all I feel like I got in my own way. Telling myself what should be what it could be and fighting against what’s natural for me. Next, do you look at what might be prestigious or highly revered and coaching/teaching isn’t always up there with the top. The struggles outside of self belief have been time convenience as with anything having to really decide what’s worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently employed full-time with Delta Vacations as a customer engagement manager. On my own I am a wife, a mother, a daughter and most recently. I’ve added leadership and transitional Coach to those titles. I specialize in helping women take control of their mindset, develop their inner life and get out of their own way. I am most proud of being a product of my own growth as well as being a team player a mother, a wife, and someone always looking to learn. What sets me apart? I would say my realistic approach my positivity, my energy and my low tolerance for BS.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like that, even in a city 1 millions of people you can find those quiet pockets and build community. I love that there’s always something to do somewhere to go a lot of family oriented places, but also places where you can just revel in being an adult on your own. At least like the traffic and the fact that you have to drive to get everywhere.
