Today we’d like to introduce you to JoeLeo Moss.
Hi JoeLeo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It was as simple as needing something I couldn’t find. I was going out for the weekend and I needed a shirt with something green on it. I went from department store to department store. I just couldn’t find it. I went to get a haircut and broke down my frustration to my barber. I professed the desire to just make my own stuff as a though it wasn’t possible. My barber said “Why don’t you?” This sent me on a long journey that has been going for over 20 years. I haven’t looked back. I’ve created countless designs and even had some success at selling them. This journey is ongoing and I’m enjoying it all!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but you have to stay on it! The struggles have all varied. The ones I remember most were the ones that involved not knowing enough in order to execute your own goals. You meet a lot of people that will claim they can help you with your brand. Some will help for a fee and some won’t. I had to learn a lot of tough lessons through trial & error. I can definitely say every struggle was a lesson learned and I use it to move myself and the brand forward.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been creating since I was a child. I gravitated towards symbolism and captivating marketing ads. Billboards were my favorite thing to see growing up. I developed my skills over the years and used those skills to create a clothing brand. This brand has gained me a lot of respect and admiration far and wide. The logo designs that represent The GOOD LIFE Clothing Co. are unique and unlike any existing brand. The story of how it came to be and the other iconic symbols are great stories within themselves. I’ve created so many garments and designs over the past 20 plus years. I’d have to say the one that I’m most proud of is my signature varsity jacket. I say the varsity jacket because it achieved exactly what I designed for. That was to be warm and look FLY all while pursuing whatever you define as the Good Life.
Any big plans?
I’m looking to step into the content world. I won’t say in what capacity as it’s still in development. It’s time to reach beyond where I can see this brand going. That’s physically and geographically.
