Today we’d like to introduce you to Karinna Barley.
Hi Karinna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This year marks 18 years since I started hair school, meaning I’ve officially been in the industry for half of my life. I graduated from cosmetology school in 2009 and spent the first 12 years of my career working for a couple of well-known salons in the metro area. It was during the pandemic of 2020 that I decided to finally open my own salon suite, and I haven’t looked back since. All Hallows’ Hair Studio has been open for almost 6 years now, and has since won numerous statewide and international awards and made a staple in the Atlanta hair industry.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I knew even before I started hair school that I had a knack for vivid hair color, but back in 2008/2009, that kind of education/technology within the hair industry wasn’t feasible, or even really heard of. I was told numerous times that building a clientele of mostly vivid clients was “impossible.”
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in vivid colors, redheads, and overall color corrections. Helping individuals discover a form of self-expression through their hair is something I take pride in.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Take your time making your most authentic art, and the success will follow.
