Today we’d like to introduce you to Micah Lewis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey!
I’m Micah and I’m an actor, creative director, producer, writer, visionary and future Oscar winner from Atlanta, Georgia.
My start really began in 2024 going into 2025.
I had always wanted to be an actor, but didn’t know exactly how to start and it also took me a while to gain the confidence to just do it, even if I was scared.
There were people I went to school with years prior that I saw were out making progress and that inspired me to go for it myself, so I did anything I could to see if there were any casting calls and reached out to people I knew who had advice for me on where I should look or where to begin.
Fast forward to November of 2024, I got my first gig as an extra from fellow actor, Dallas Oshae, and from that experience alone I was hooked and since then haven’t stopped.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So far it’s been easy getting background work, or gigs needed for extras from my experience.
It has been challenging and can be challenging trying to reach out for more lead roles, supporting roles, or work that isn’t just background. That just means I got to get back to work and hone in on my craft. I’ve got dreams and goals to accomplish into this.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an actor and writer.
I specialize in sharpening my skills as a method actor, improvisation, screenwriting and voice acting.
While voice acting and doing impressions has been something that’s always come naturally to me since I was little, I also know that’s a skill set I can perfect and want to keep practicing.
I’m known for being everywhere. I have a lot to learn and I learn a lot on set, ask questions, connect, so I’m known to be everywhere and take every opportunity I can get whether it’s for music videos, short films, skits. Whatever I can do, I’m ready to learn and take notes the more I navigate this. I’m also known to be one of the young up and coming actors alongside my peers Oluwatobi Edward, K$haun Kortéz, Demarcus Hurst, and Aslean Janelle Florence just to name a few.
All great actors, they inspire me and Aslean is someone I’m eager to work with.
I’m most proud of being able to do and accomplish so much in my first year of acting whether it’s been music videos, short films, skits, commercials, etc. and to have such an amazing support system from my mother and those closest to me in this business so far who want the best for me and I want the best for them.
I’m nowhere near where I’m going to be just yet, but what a great start.
What sets me apart from others is my drive, I have this drive and this hunger for this.
It is all I think about, all I dream about, this means everything to me and to be the best whatever it takes. I’m not in competition with anyone other than myself, acting is what gets me up in the morning, it is what makes me feel alive. This is my dream.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Absolutely, someone I have to give a lot of credit to is my mother.
I grew up watching my mom act in plays in the local community down in Savannah, Georgia when I was little. I’d always admired her being on stage, her confidence. She’s always been such a creative and influence to me and I love her dearly.
My aunt, Keli Lewis, who I’ve not always told, but from a distance has been a mentor to me just by watching her. She’s an incredible singer, she’s been in recording studios, and has done so much all while being a mother to my four cousins.
Someone else I’ve got to give credit to is Oluwatobi Edward, or Tobi is what most people call him.
We originally met at the University of West Georgia in 2021 from a brief interaction, but didn’t truly become friends until I dropped out. That’s when we realized we had a lot in common, we have the same goals and have been close ever since.
He’s someone that has pushed me from day one, that man is not only someone I collaborate with consistently, he is also my brother. It wouldn’t even sound right to call him a friend, that is my brother.
We enjoy working together, we are also working on our own production company alongside other actors and crew, Oluwatobi Productions.
While he has more experience than me, I look up to him, and he’s someone I can always count on and I know he can count on me. We’ve begun to find our people together in this, you will definitely see us at the top in the next five years.
We are a great team, or I guess you could say the dynamic duo alongside our peers and like-minded people.
