Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Robinson. Them and their team share their story with us below:

M.A.D. MIKE “LEGEND IN THE MAKING”

M.A.D. Mike was born Michael E Robinson Jr, in New Orleans, LA on September 16, 1991. Parented by two eclectic gospel performers in the city of blues, M.A.D. was a natural with his voice and when it came to playing instruments at a young age. Later, after the passing of his father, he picked up rapping and producing other styles of music and was quickly known as “the man who can create anything”. He invited the claim saying, “I was always expecting a challenge.” At the age of 18 M.A.D. met Dj. Strech who serves as CFO of his label I.T.M. (In Time Music) Even though it started as a mere dream of theirs, ten years later, there are 13 artist signed to the independent Label: Major, Whitney Michelle, Mu$e, Boss Squad (JHBBoss, ATJBoss, TREBoss, N$LBoss, DTHBoss), WondrBoy, NoloTheDon and 1Mack. The crew is steady working and has been said to do their first show as a label in 2022.

Around the same time, the Label started in 2010, M.A.D. and Dj. Strech had their first opportunity to be heard in an award-winning cinematic documentary entitled “Mercy’s Kennel”. Some of M.A.D.’s very first sounds can be heard on the film ft. Major. These days, he’s mastered the crafts of rapping, singing, producing and engineering, being responsible for most of his label’s sound while proving himself time and time again working with various tv series and documentaries, La’Porsha Renae (Motown artist), G. Simone, and most recently was featured on KRS-ONE’s new mixtape entitled “Street Light”. M.A.D. said, “I’m a bit overwhelmed to be welcomed to work with a legend such as KRS, it’s incredible. From his knowledge of music to his knowledge of life, he is truly the teacher, I’m honored.” He also said that he is beyond excited with word of them touring together soon. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a tough journey. I’ve been through Katrina. I also lost my father at 10 who was a huge influence on my life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an artist, musician, producer, engineer and influencer. I play 4 instruments. I sing and rap while mixing and mastering my own music professionally. I make my money day to day playing instruments for various events and churches. I also work at different studios around ATL as an engineer. I don’t think there’s ever been an artist of my caliber. I’m most proud of my work with KRS One in the film “Save The Studio”.

How do you define success?
Success is satisfaction. Personal satisfaction. Make yourself proud. That’s a true success that no one else can measure.
