Life & Work with Moeda of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Moeda.

Hi Moeda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Simply stated I want to become the representation that I wish I had growing up.
Ive been doing different mediums of art since I was a kid, but it wasn’t until sophomore year of high school where I took it seriously. With the help of another creative, Jordyn Simmons she along with our other friend Terri created what would be the birth of a creative empire for those involved with the project. You never forget your first you know! Haha. I wouldn’t be where I am today without prioritizing perseverance paired with fulfillment, gratitude, and also knowing when to relax, that’s important too but you must figure out how these concepts fit on your spiritual body, like clothes. All that aside, Its been a wild 7 years so far, so I’m hopefully to be able to inspire more hearts with what’s in store.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth is merely perception, nothing worth doing will be that way inherently. I learned that through years of my own life experience. Experience is the only constant in life, and me pausing mine for the sake of productivity, other people, or growing pains, left me with moments where I’ve unraveled.
What kept me steady is my purpose. That I’m meant to be doing this so I have to pursue for the sake of upcoming generations. That is the duty of everyone granted life, to ensure life remains. I also have an amazing support system that has kept me afloat in times of uncertainty.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like the term 360 artist because it’s limitless, but encapsulates more than one medium. I’m not sure if I’ve ever listed all of them in this fashion, but I do photography, cinematography, 3-D rendering and sculpting, graphic design, editing, styling, SFX makeup artist, creative directing. Along with writing, composing, engineering, and recording music. Set building, gaffing, directing and storyboarding. I also model occasionally. I don’t put a cap on my capacity and I don’t necessarily have a favorite as I love all of them as a favorite. What I’ve been told that sets me apart is my storytelling element and out of box approach to art as a whole, that with speed and efficiency in execution. I work like a machine and I’ll still have moments where I don’t feel like it’s enough. I’ve learned to embrace it as the eagerness to create bigger.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the culture of every face of the city. The good the bad, the ugly. I love what ATL represents as a whole because I often see so many of those that look like me, and I was fortunate enough to grown up around that as well . I’ll keep my dislikes to myself. There’s a lot that could be better, but I’ll leave those sentiments to the canvas.
