Life & Work with Noah Estrella of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Estrella.

Hi Noah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m from Canton, Georgia. I’ve been playing music for fifteen years. I started out playing in dive bars and small local venues in north Georgia. There was not a lot of things to do up there back in the day so I’d take trips to Atlanta to play music with people. I have been lucky to meet musicians who share the same curiosity I have and that’s helped fuel me into becoming a better musician.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not really. I don’t think it is a smooth road for many musicians.

I had a lot of struggles with mental health and pacing myself. I had so much self doubt early on chasing a better version of my playing, understanding of music, understanding of myself. I lost it for a bit but sometimes that happens. I think that compounded with being working clas. It can be a challenge to rationalize spending your time on something like music. Luckily for me, I am delusional.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I started the band Plastique in 2022. This is a project I am extremely proud of. It’s a rock band at the core but we’re pulling influences ranging from krautrock, brazillian guitar, math rock. It’s a neat and unique clusterfuck of all my favorite things about music. The music is performed loud and at a pace that I can never really keep up with.

All sweets, no vegetables.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Go to one of our shows and answer three of my riddles.
