Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. However, with that being said, that is what I have learned to embrace most. I have experienced everything from losing everything I own to changing friend groups, having to revamp, clearing out my bank account, and being laid off and feeling at my lowest. There is so much I have endured but it all made me stronger. You find out who you are and what you’re made of when you face adversity. All you can do is rely on God. Through it all, God never left my side. This journey has taught me a great deal about success. It takes way more than 10,000 hours to be at the top of your game. Sacrifice was a key component in my elevation. I had to be willing to let people, places, and things go to carve the path I was destined for. one thing about the road you travel is that you will always learn something about yourself along the way. You have to say yes to change, adopt a learning lifestyle, and stay committed and consistent with your goals, dreams, and aspirations. I had to pray and stay purposeful and intentional in every decision while trusting the process. I also had to continuously invest in myself. You have to have the confidence to bet on yourself at all costs. You will never be able to cheat your brand, business, or hustle. What you put into it will determine what your product and gain look like. One of the things that played an intricate role in my development was when I silenced my desires to be like others and or seek validation. I spent a lot of time trying to mirror other people’s journeys when God was creating something new in me. At that very moment, I birthed a campaign, movement titled “Carve Your Path” because I became more invested in who I’m destined to be and less concerned with how I can align with peers, mentors, and role models.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Yes, my advice would be to map out your goals. Do your homework then create a plan. While you create a plan be open to your plan being altered. Your goal may never change but new pathways and roads may appear to propel you forward. Use your network and don’t be afraid to collaborate with others along the way. Develop a team, group, or support cast that can support one another. Your tribe will be a gigantic puzzle piece to advancing. Everyone needs someone to get ahead. Keep God first, Pray about everything, and fix your heart and mind to learn from everyone. You’ll never know what skill you pick up today that you can apply to your life and journey. Lastly, don’t stop dreaming, and don’t stop living. Sometimes when we crave something so bad we focus on that one thing and life passes us by. Not to mention, it’s more important to cherish the road to success rather than bask in your accomplishments. What you’ve learned and endured will always be more meaningful than what you’ve obtained. There’s beauty in the journey.
