Life & Work with Tyrone (Terah Da Barber) Sapp

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Tyrone (Terah Da Barber) Sapp.

Tyrone (Terah Da Barber) Sapp

Tyrone, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my barber journey over 12 years ago, around 2011, after my mother passed away. I needed to make a career change that would help aid in my lifestyle. When my mother passed, she left me money, which went quickly, but I liked the lifestyle my family and I had, and I wanted to keep it that way. I knew just working a 9-5 wouldn’t cut it, and I always had barbering in the back of my mind. I researched what I had to do to become a barber, and in 2011, I started that journey.

I went to barber school in New York City, where I am from, and I was making a name for myself barbering. I went to all the local hair shows and barber battles and would highlight the events and interview people. I uprooted my family from Queens, New York, in April of 2021 through my job at Delta Airlines. We moved here and had to start all over. My wife is a realtor with a team in New York, and she’s licensed in both states.

We hit the ground running. She’s been making a name for herself here in Ga, and so have I. A few months after I relocated here, I found a shop called “Smoke N Mirrors barbershop, and I have been there since July 2021. I have built a strong clientele and a name in Henry County.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a smooth road because my wife, Sherece Sapp, and I knew what we needed to do to make it work. Our move to this new state was smooth because she’s an expert on relocations, and I know how to build a clientele quickly.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed master barber and content creator. I specialize in all grooming services. I am proud of my professional customer service, and my clients love me. I travel to local and regional hair events to stay informed about the industry and what’s new.

I just received an honorary barber award for all that I do in the barber industry, and I am so honored about that. It took place in Plano, Texas, and we had a great time. I am known for being the barber with the mic in my hand. I’m always having a good time and putting smiles on people’s faces.

So, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you before we go? How can they support you?
I’m available for everything. I love to team up with individuals in the hair industry in person or online. I’m always ready to interview to highlight what’s happening in the hair industry.

If anybody wants to collaborate with me, all they have to do is reach out to me at @terahdabarber2x or at terahdabarber@gmail.com.
