Meet Acquenettea McKenzie of Allure Destinations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Acquenettea McKenzie.

Hi Acquenettea, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After serving twenty years in New Jersey law enforcement I learned discipline, resilience, and how to keep going even when the road wasn’t easy. Every late night, every sacrifice, and every challenge led me to this season, badge to beach.

After I retired “Badge to Beach” became more than a phrase, it became my reality. I picked up and relocated to Georgia because I knew I wanted to build something that felt personal.Travel has changed so much over the years, everything is digital… everything is rushed… and people barely get the chance to sit with someone who actually listens.

So I opened my new travel agency office in Roswell with one goal:
to bring back the old-school experience of booking travel.
Face-to-face conversations.
Real connections.
Understanding clients travel dreams, their style, their comfort level, their vision — not just their dates and destination.

Because planning a vacation should feel exciting, not overwhelming.
And sometimes all you need is someone who will sit across the table from you,
ask the right questions,
and design a getaway that truly fits you.

Now, I’m stepping into a new chapter, from badge to beach. This journey isn’t just about travel, it’s about transformation. It’s about helping people step away from the noise while they reset and recharge their mind.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Most of my struggles came from getting in my own head and worrying about the “what ifs.” Deep down, I knew I didn’t want to continue working in law enforcement. I had to choose courage over comfort, make the hard decision, and trust myself enough to follow my dreams.

Leaving what was familiar wasn’t easy, but growth rarely happens inside your comfort zone. To create the life I envisioned, I had to leave the norm behind, move to a new state, and start over from scratch.

Sometimes the biggest risk isn’t starting over, it’s staying somewhere you’ve already outgrown. Every step I’ve taken has been a reminder that faith will take you places fear never could.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
One thing that sets my travel agency apart is that I don’t try to be everything to everyone. I chose to specialize in what I truly love, curating unforgettable Caribbean getaways and Dubai experiences (mainly short flight vacations).

I’m incredibly proud of my agency because I don’t just book vacations, I create experiences that celebrate life’s biggest moments. Whether you’re planning a destination wedding on a white-sand beach, celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary, organizing a girls’ getaway, coordinating a family reunion, hosting a church retreat, or bringing a group together for an unforgettable escape, I’m here to make the planning seamless from start to finish.

I take the time to understand your vision, match you with the right destination and resort, and handle the details so you can focus on making memories. Every itinerary is thoughtfully curated because your trip deserves more than a reservation—it deserves a personalized experience.

Travel isn’t just about where you go. It’s about how you feel when you get there.
