Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Cox.
Hi Angela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey as an artist was never something I planed – it was something I always felt.
I’m from Ukraine and from a very young age I was drawn to art in a way I could not fully explain. It was never about perfection or technique. It was about emotion _ the kind that lives beneath the surface, unspoken, but deeply present.
For a time life led me away from that part of myself. I followed paths that felt expected, practical. But art never truly left me.it remained within me,,waiting.
It was during one of the most transformative chapters of my life that I returned to it – not as a choice but as a necessary.
I wasn’t creating to be seen, I as creating to understand, to process, to survive.
And that is were everything changed. What began as something deeply personal evolved into a language – one that does not rely on words , but on feeling. Through charcoal, acrylic, and impasto textures I began building each piece layer by layer – not just with material, but with experience, memory and emotion.
Every work I create carries presence.
Over time I realized I’m not simply creating art- I’m translating something intangible into form. Something people don’t always know how to express
but recognize when they encounter it. That is why my work resonates . It does not exist to decorate the space . It exist to transform it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m self -taught expressionist artist working primary with acrylic, impasto texture and mix media My work is centered around emotion,,, depth and the unseen-what exists beneath the surface but can not always be explained. What I’m most proud of is staying true to my voice. In a world that often favors appearance, my work is rooted in truth, imperfection and authenticity.
What sets me apart is the combination of raw expression and refined presence – the balance between intensity and elegance.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I’m drawn to anything that explores depth, identity and the unseen. Music plays a big role in my creative process. Overall Im inspired by anything that carries a sense of depth, atmosphere and emotional honesty- whether its a book, a sound or a visual moment.
