Meet Antoinette Smith of BB Beauty Lounge (BrowzNBrazilians) in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antoinette Smith.

Antoinette, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
In 2017 I went to Elaine Sterling Institute as an esthetician. I took a wax course and immediately fell in love with waxing. I said once I finish school, I’m going to open up a Brazilian Wax center. Once I graduated in 2017, I got my esthetician license and started working at European Wax Center. I decided to branch off and start my own waxing business. Now I’m working on my own at a salon suite. In the near future my store front will be up and running. Black owned waxing lounge.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is not for the weak. My struggle is marketing. I really suck at marketing but I’m overcoming this obstacle by trying my best posting my work daily. I’ve been moving from suite to suite trying to find the perfect location especially with perfect parking. Spending thousands of dollars trying to find the perfect wax that gets the job done correctly. I’ve changed my business name numerous times, trying to find the best name that stands out. In the mist of it all having a baby while trying to build my business from the ground up. I tell myself every day you got this don’t give up. everything will fall in. place soon. The struggle is real but by the grace of GOD I’m making it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about BB Beauty Lounge (BrowzNBrazilians) – what should we know?
BrowzNBrazilians is mainly a waxing lounge but we incorporate skincare also. We specialize in full body waxing, exfoliating facials, and vsteam and coming soon ombre browz (microshading). I’m known for my Brazilians. I make sure all hairs are gone. I take my time but also is fast. I educate my guest/clients how to keep their vagina ingrown free. I really love the relationship my clients and I have. I make sure my clients have an awesome and comfortable experience. My goal is to make women feel good about looking at their vagina. Every woman should have a pretty kitty and it’s my job to make them look and feel good. Just call me the vagina slayer. I’m here to slay all vaginas. My motto is “Divorce your razors and Marry your wax specialist”.
