Meet Ashton London of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton London.

Hi Ashton, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started singing when I was five years old after winning my first talent show. That’s when my interest in entertainment began. My parents started entering me into festivals and talent competitions throughout Memphis. I started getting booked for local events and took every opportunity I could at the time to be seen and heard.

Those early performances opened doors to bigger opportunities. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to open for and tour with artists such as Tank, Monica, Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign, Kanye West and many others. Along the way, I’ve had highs and lows that taught me a lot about myself as an artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Early on, I came close to being signed to a couple major deals and opportunities, but also faced a lot of rejections. Auditioning for TV shows, meeting labels, hearing no, and having to go back home and rebuild. There were also setbacks behind the scenes, like management situations not working out and even losing a full recorded project to a system crash. Before shows, there were always unexpected challenges too, like last-minute changes with dancers or DJs. I learned to adapt and stay prepared. I used to think I had to fit a certain commercial mold, but I’ve realized being authentic matters more. Looking back, every setback has made me realize why I even make music in the first place. Those experiences have definitely shaped me as an artist, businessman, and as a person.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a recording artist, professional vocalist, songwriter, and actor. I’m known for my smooth tone and delivery, but what truly sets me apart is the genuineness of my voice and the sense of spiritual connection people say they feel when they hear me sing. I grew up singing in church so that mix of technical ability and heart helps me bring authenticity into every song.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The biggest piece of advice I would give is to never forget why you started. Your purpose has to be bigger than the recognition. So stay optimistic and visualize everything you want to become and BE THAT already before it happens. Drown out the outside noise and keep tunnel vision. Don’t allow other people’s opinions or actions to influence the way you see yourself or the way you move. At the end of the day, it’s your vision. Your job is to execute it the best way you can. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Comparison steals your joy.

One thing I wish I’d known is that things aren’t always what they seem. There will be some unbelievable moments and even people you admire may not be the right people for you to be involved with. So make sure you’re doing it for yourself. Just remember your why and keep that close.
