Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth McCusker.
Hi Beth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey into the beauty industry began over 17 years ago with a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful. What started as a love for hair and makeup quickly grew into a career that allowed me to combine creativity, connection, and entrepreneurship.
After becoming a licensed cosmetologist, I spent years building my skills behind the chair while discovering a special love for bridal beauty. I did this all while being a mother to three kids. They are my world. I do this for them and to live out a dream I have had all my life. Aside from being a mom there was something incredibly rewarding about being part of such an important milestone in a client’s life. Over time, I built a reputation for creating timeless hairstyles and soft, natural-looking makeup that helps clients feel like the best version of themselves.
As my bridal business continued to grow, I took a leap of faith and founded Beth’s Bridal & Beauty LLC, allowing me to serve brides throughout Massachusetts, New England, and beyond. Through dedication, word-of-mouth referrals, and a commitment to exceptional client experiences, my business expanded from a dream into a thriving brand.
Today, in addition to my successful bridal business, I also work behind the chair providing hair color, cuts, and extensions for salon clients. As a mother of three and business owner, I’ve worked hard to create a career that reflects my passion for beauty while giving clients a welcoming, personalized experience.
Looking back, what I’m most proud of isn’t just building a business—it’s the relationships I’ve formed along the way all while also being a mother of three. Whether it’s helping a bride feel confident on her wedding day or giving a client a fresh new look, my goal has always been the same: to help people leave my chair feeling beautiful, empowered, and seen.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth, aside form being a stay at home/ working mom I have had a lot of people..unfortunately, close to me who didn’t fully support me and thought I wouldn’t make it to where I am now. But, I believe if you work hard enough and want something badly enough there’s nothing anyone can say to change your mind. It’s all about mindset.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What I love most about hair and makeup is that it’s both technical and artistic. Every client is different, and I enjoy creating a look that enhances their natural beauty while reflecting their personality and style. Whether I’m customizing a bridal updo, creating dimensional hair color, or designing a soft glam makeup look, I see each service as a collaboration. My goal is never to make someone look like someone else—it’s to help them feel like the most confident version of themselves.
I’m most proud of building my business from the ground up while raising three children. Every bride booked, every referral, and every returning salon client has been earned through hard work, consistency, and genuine relationships. Knowing that clients trust me with some of the most important moments in their lives..from weddings to major life transformations this is something I never take for granted.
I’m especially proud that much of my business has grown through word-of-mouth referrals. To me, that’s the greatest compliment because it means my clients not only loved their experience but felt confident recommending me to friends and family.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine luxury service with a personal, down-to-earth experience. I take the time to truly listen to my clients and create customized looks that work for their features, lifestyle, and vision. With over 17 years in the beauty industry and 15 years specializing in bridal beauty, I’ve learned that great hair and makeup isn’t just about trends it’s about making people feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful. I also bring a calm, organized presence to wedding mornings, helping brides feel relaxed and cared for during one of the biggest days of their lives.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that it’s a close nit community, I get a lot of referrals through work of mouth and I feel like that’s one of the best compliments a Bridal HMUA/ Salon stylist can get!
I do wish we had more bridal education around the city that’s more accessible to stylists and maybe a bridal suite is much needed.
I am not a fan of how crowded it gets in the summer with all the traffic, but HEY who could turn down being on Americas Hometown on a beautiful day!?
