Meet Tasha DeyAmpert of Blend Beautique in Birmingham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasha DeyAmpert.

Tasha, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I found my love of makeup at the age of 14. I remember that year for Christmas my family asked, “what do you want for Christmas?” My reply, “MAKEUP!” Needless to say, makeup kits were on deck!

From there on, I played around with different looks and colors. Keep in mind this was before the YouTube era so your girl was going to the local library checking out beauty books. I remember my mom giving me one of her old 80’s beauty book. Someone should have stopped me, lol.

Fast forward many years later, I became a MAC artist. I worked for this company for over seven years. During that time, it strengthened me as an artist and I started to find my style of artistry.

I had the opportunity to freelance for major beauty brands such Dior, Laura Mercier, and Yves Saint Laurent but at that time, my love and passion for makeup needed to be expressed my way and now we have Blend Beautique.

Has it been a smooth road?
A smooth road?! How long do we have?!
I definitely went through experiences that made me question my passion to the point where I almost threw in the towel.

I was constantly being compared and told that I wasn’t good enough. That I needed to change my ways of artistry if I wanted to make it.

I would reach out to so many people for collaborations and messages would be left on read.

That can really do something to your spirit and your mindset when you constantly *hear  you’re not good enough time after time after time.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I specialize in everyday beauty makeup and weddings. When I get the chance I love to do creative editorial work. My clients and anyone who follows my brand knows I’m known for blending. Hence my business name Blend Beautique.

I love how my business gives me the platform to introduce makeup to those who might not ever try it. You’ll be surprised at how many people are afraid of makeup because they feel like they won’t look like themselves.

I make beauty makeup fun while still looking classic.

Through this journey of makeup, I’ve had some pretty awesome experiences so include my work has being featured in Kontrol Magazine, Alabama Weddings, and I had the opportunity to do makeup for music artist Stacy Barthe.

Any advice for other women, particularly young women who are just starting their journey?
Stay true to yourself. Don’t alter your gift others. Create your lane and the people will come. Trust the process.
