Meet Bre Bardenwerper of The Scout Guide North Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bre Bardenwerper.

Bre, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
While traveling to Raleigh, NC for a job, I stumbled across a beautiful publication, “The Scout Guide,” at a local boutique. It featured various elite local businesses and was unlike anything I had ever seen. I was amazed at the quality and aesthetic of the guide and used it to know all the best places to visit in Raleigh. My cousin and I knew it was a special publication. I couldn’t get it off my mind for months, so I began researching the company behind it. The Scout Guide is a national franchise that advocates for independently owned businesses throughout the Nation.

Nearly a year later, God opened a door and allowed me to start a home decor and gift boutique of my own, The Styled Collective, in my hometown. I’ve always had a passion for supporting local business but having my own small business allowed me to see how vital local businesses are to a town.

After searching for unique forms of marketing that would support local life, but also attract tourists, my mind went back to The Scout Guide. A guide dedicated to supporting local businesses but also targets surrounding areas in order to bring in new clientele.

Again, God provided, and we started The Scout Guide North Georgia. TSG North Georgia combines my passions of being creative and supporting businesses in our community.

Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve definitely had a few struggles. The main one being a struggle that I know I’m not the only one having. Being a wife, mom to two little kids, and owning two businesses is overwhelming at times. My attention is constantly being diverted into multiple directions. For instance, while typing this response, I have gotten up three times to tuck my toddler back into bed for his nap, and I’m currently typing with my right hand while feeding my baby with my left hand.

I know at the end of the day its worth it, and I know there are people who have much harder struggles to deal with, so I’m not complaining.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Guided by the principle that everything you need to live a well-curated life can be found in our community, TSG North Georgia prides itself on being a high-end advertising and marketing publication, or regional guide, that highlights the faces and places that make North Georgia truly unique.

Located in over 60+ cities, The Scout Guide serves as a trusted resource and city guide that showcases the elite local businesses around the entire nation; including cities like Nantucket, Charleston, Nashville, Jackson Hole, Atlanta, and New Orleans.

We are honored that North Georgia was chosen to be included in this exclusive network of local luminaries.

In addition to being a part of the print guide, TSG businesses receive a creative consultation, a professional photoshoot, exclusive and targeted distribution around North GA, Atlanta, and Highlands, NC, coverage on the blogs and website, cross-promotion to additional markets, and access to an exclusive nationwide network.

We target both tourists and locals alike, to make sure the ideal clientele for each business is represented locally and nationally.

We are currently scouting businesses for Volume 1, which will launch on March 2020.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
