Meet Brianna Thorne of Say Slim’s Cosmetics in Lovejoy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Thorne.

Brianna, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had a passion for makeup. I was the girl spending hours and hours in the bathroom to get ready before school. Over the years, I continued to practice my craft and I officially started my business in 2019.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I must say this journey has been very interesting. There have been many ups to owning my own business but there has also been just as many downs. Sometimes you get an idea and you want that idea to work right away, but realistically speaking, it almost never goes that way. I’ve dealt with indecisiveness, doubts, anxiety, not having money to invest, etc. I’ve experienced the long nights researching or brainstorming and also long nights crying, but it has built me up as a person and as a business owner.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Say Slim’s Cosmetics story. Tell us more about the business.
Say Slim’s Cosmetics is a compilation of makeup and cosmetics. I am a makeup artist and makeup is the foundation of my business. I also sell many products such as lip oil/gloss, lip scrub, whipped shea/cocoa butter, body serum, etc. Aside from cosmetics, I also sell body jewelry (waistbeads, anklets, bracelets, etc).

The thing that I’m most proud of with my business is the feedback I receive from clients/customers. They know I put my all into everything I do and they show me they appreciate me just as much as I do them. My business is different from others because my heart is in it. I make every single thing by myself with my hands and I put so much love into it and it shows. I’ve never had a bad review and I aim to keep it that way.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t really believe in luck. I believe that everything that has happened or is going to happen is all apart of God’s plan.
