Meet Britney Stringfellow of Pearl Lifestyle Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Stringfellow.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Both of my parents are entrepreneurs, so creating my own work and being self-employed have always been in my blood. Growing up and even now, we would throw around “back of the napkin” business ideas for fun. For years, I was restless with dreams of one day starting my own business, but the timing was not right, and those plans were put on the back-burner.

Over a decade ago, I moved to my beloved neighborhood in Midtown Atlanta, by way of Macon, Georgia to attend Georgia State University. I majored in Journalism and minored in Hospitality. My last semester at GSU, I traveled to Europe for a study abroad program. I was mesmerized by the way of life in the South of France. Locals of Nice, France could be found strolling the outdoor markets for fresh flowers and groceries. Wine was water and most days were spent at a picnic table, chatting with store owners until sundown. If there was a need for a break, business owners affixed a sign to the door and took it. While they ran the risk of missing out on business, somehow they still managed to have loyal patrons that kept the lights on and inventory in stock. Locals worked hard, but they did not seem to be stressed. What a concept!

My trip inspired me, to say the least but when I returned, I was back to reality! I graduated college during the recession. I spent 8 months back home, living in my parent’s basement, job searching. Quite the opposite of sunbathing on the beaches of the French Riviera! I finally landed a job, working the night shift as a concierge of a luxury highrise in Buckhead. For 6+ years, I worked my way up to become a property manager. From CEOs, empty nesters, young professionals, retirees, to pro athletes, my career in property management was an incredible but humbling experience, which guided me to the realization that I have a genuine passion for serving others.

Pearl Lifestyle Services, Inc. came as a result. I wanted a chance to simplify and enhance day to day life for others, while also remaining true to the balance of hard work and values that my family instilled in me.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road to starting Pearl has been both gravel and paved at times. There is a sense of peace that consumes you when you pursue your passion. However, as dreamy as that sounds, there are still bills to be paid and the fear of failure can be crippling.

The biggest struggle has been taking the “leap of faith.” Before I started Pearl, I worked early, late and hard, and was complacent in a job that had become familiar over the course of several years. I truly enjoyed and am thankful for the people I met along the way, but at the end of the day, I was not happy. I set the bar too low for myself and spent years thinking, if I just keep working hard, maybe it will all pay off and I would win some sort of life/career lottery. While I would encourage and help others pursue their dreams, I could not envision how my own interests, gifts and work experience would translate as a career.

After much prayer, I realized that God has given me purpose, too! I abandoned the idea that I had to have “everything” figured out and found that you just simply have to BEGIN! I also found that if you want something, sometimes you have to go out and get it for yourself. Every day, I unlock one more piece of the puzzle of what brought me to where I am today. It has been a humbling and adventure-packed journey so far!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Pearl Lifestyle Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Pearl Lifestyle Services is a personal concierge and lifestyle service business. While its beginnings were geared more towards running errands and assistant work (which I still do), it has evolved as I continue to take on more creative projects. My day to day, has consisted of helping businesses with rebranding, writing web content and designing marketing material. Other days, I can be found tutoring an elementary student, prepping photo shoots for nationally recognized brands, installing holiday décor with interior designers, organizing homes, bidding maintenance and renovation projects, planning events and even helping to register an emotional support dog!

I specialize in assisting in tasks that act as a catalyst in freeing time for my clients for the things in life that are most important to them. I cater my services to all people and their respective lifestyles.

I am most proud of the variety of services offered. I know that daunting feeling of looking at a to-do list and thinking, “how am I ever going to get this accomplished,” and “who in the world would ever be able to help me with it?” I enjoy answering those questions. If there is a request made outside of my wheelhouse, I typically learn how to accomplish it or happily give a referral.

As far as what sets me apart from others, I do not know what other folks are doing, but I can confidently tell you that I genuinely care for my clients. I care if my client has a work project that is bogging them down or if they are excited about an upcoming vacation. I care if a family member is sick or if they have a crazy goal they are trying to accomplish. My clients’ happiness and success bring me joy, resulting in all-around success.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Where do I even begin? I am a self-proclaimed Midtown Atlanta Ambassador. I moved here over 10 years ago and my entire neighborhood, and many other areas have changed so much. I am obsessed with the new construction around town… sure I’ve gotten a nail in my tire from it… sure a 5-minute commute has now turned to 15… but I DO NOT CARE! What a time to be alive in Atlanta, Georgia!

The music, the culture, the people, the style, the food, the sports, the movie production, the festivals, the neighborhoods, the BELTLINE, and so much more, it’s just fun.

While every city has its issues and I am not shutting my eyes to the fact that there are still issues to be addressed, I believe that the people of Atlanta are strongly connected and really work hard to champion for all people and causes. There are some really great people here, doing some really amazing things.

My lips are sealed on dislikes; however, I am ready to “Rise Up” at next year’s Superbowl! Lets go!
