Meet Brittany Davis of B.Davis in Manhattan New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Davis.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At first, I didn’t know what I wanted to be in life exactly, I just knew I had to be a Business Owner and I’d have to work hard to make my dreams come to reality. It all started when I applied to the Fashion Institute of Technology. I didn’t know if I would’ve gotten accepted into the college because it is so competitive but by God’s grace, I got accepted. As time went by, I started to take painting seriously and that’s when I knew I wanted to use my artwork as a platform to tell my story and hope that it will inspire many people of all ages to always keep pushing through life and to never give up. That’s when I started my business at 20 years old.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t always a smooth road because I battle with myself constantly. I know my depth and potentials and I think I’m very hard on myself because I want to become so big in this life and to be known for greatness that I am pushing myself constantly. I often forget to be grateful for the small wins but with everything I do, I’m never satisfied with myself. At first, it was me isolating myself from doing my work because I use to suffer from severe depression and I was always so sad and I wasn’t finding my purpose. It’s only this year that I found genuine happiness and I knew what I wanted in this life. Since I reached a new level now and I feel great, I just want to keep inspiring and getting closer to where I really want to be.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of. What sets you apart from the competition?
As of right now, I specialize in painting especially and 2D designing. My supporters buy my originals, Posters of my artwork and they order commissions from me in which it’s the paintings I’m most proud about. Everyone knows me for doing Portrait and Figure paintings, specifically Nude paintings, fantasy, and dream-like qualities as well as doing a lot of artwork that depicts the Rasta Culture. I’m known for doing Bob Marley art pieces. After every artwork I do, I always give a Storyline as to the meaning of my work and how it relates to me. All of my pieces have a connection to me and my life in some way, they’re a part of me that I hold so dear to my heart. Due to my unique descriptions and my creative concepts, it gives something new that not many people may do or have those crazy ideas that I have. I’m glad that so much people relate to my work and reach out to me expressing how much they look up to me and how I inspire them. That’s one of the best parts about my Business.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is being recognized for doing something I absolutely love. It’s being able to motivate people and be known as someone as their role model. Every day, I get numerous messages from people on my social media, people from different countries that praise my work and my distinct styles, Fashion and Artwise. They tell me such amazing things and support me so much it makes me look at my life from a different perspective. Seeing people save my artwork as their screen savers on their phone, have my artwork in their homes, post me all over their social media, I feel so happy and appreciated. I want to keep making them proud and working to the best of my abilities.
