Today we’d like to introduce you to BuggyBeats.
Hi BuggyBeats, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I come from a musical family. I started naturally playing the drums as a toddler, which eventually led to me playing in church pretty much my whole life. My mom used to tell me that I would always do something in music because she seen it in me but I always rebelled because I wanted to play basketball. I also played in the band during Middle School, but I didn’t like playing sheet music because I couldn’t be as creative and play the music I enjoyed. I wasn’t as interested in making music a career until I got to college in 2016. My basketball plans didn’t work out, so I went back to my roots. From there, I cut out all the fun/partying and dedicated my last three years of college into putting my 10,000+ hours into music production. I began to get good and confident enough for me to share my art with the world and I never looked back. God, hard work, networking, patience, resilience, and staying ready helped open up more opportunities to be in position.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely is NOT a smooth road. The hardest obstacles along the way included building confidence, staying consistent, and being patient. Making a name for yourself is always one of the biggest challenges. I also ran into bad business which caused me to lose money, waste time, and to lose resources. I’ve had several hard drives crash, losing thousands of beats. Also, I had to learn to accept that everybody isn’t going to like my beats no matter how good they are.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Music Producer. I specialize in making beats and helping artists/companies create the best music possible. I’ve worked with several major artists, such as Jacquees, YK Osiris, No Cap, YSL, and more.
I’m most proud of the work I’ve been doing with a few of my independent artists: K-Major, Sauceboycam, UrealB, and Zekeosav. I have a relationship and work hands on with each one of them. They all have their own unique sound and they allow me to be BuggyBeats and trust my ear. Be on the lookout for them!
What sets me apart from others is my work ethic. (IYKYK)
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have a fetish for big houses.
