Meet Cambria Dickerson of Campr and Caravan of Luv in Birmingham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cambria Dickerson.

Cambria, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Campr, boutique PR firm, in the summer of 2017 after getting the inspiration to build a community base for entertainment, creatives, & sports here in Birmingham, AL. The idea was to help startups, independent artists & models, and eventually major sports players brand themselves effectively to rise to fame and have sustaining, long-lasting careers. So often, we hear of talent within our city travel to larger cities to grow a network and fan base to support their work and causes.

Starting Caravan of Luv by Aadyah Luv (alter ego), my tarot business, was also inspired by wanting to help the community and the people around me. I picked up reading tarot cards last Fall, just as a hobby to read myself and quickly realized that it was a gift that needed to be shared. Tarot cards are a divination tool that can be used to ask for guidance on future events or current situations. I’d always loved giving advice to others and tarot is a way to really help by reading the imagery and energy presented by the cards.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely been a journey. PR has always been my baby, my first love, and late last year I got the calling to find a way to help others heal and start a personal transformation through tarot. A constant struggle I’ve had is finding a niché for myself or a way to create a lane where both of my businesses can happily co-exist. I used to feel as though I had to choose one over, spirituality or the corporate world, which had created a bit of imbalance of time and energy given to my work on both ends of the stick. Ultimately, I want to be able to do all the things that I am passionate about, bringing in multiple streams of income as well as just giving me a safe space to create freely and express my arts.

Please tell us about your business.
Campr is a boutique public relations firm geared towards serving the creatives and entertainment industry. We offer multiple services including media relations, full-service & traditional PR, brand development, and social media management. CamPR caters to four notable categories: entertainment, sports, fashion, & lifestyle. I am proud of the growth I’ve seen within Campr since 2017. and the clientele I’ve been blessed to work with. I’ve been able to find mentors who have all helped me structure my business for long-lasting success.

Caravan of Luv is a spirituality based business that offers tarot readings for guidance and advice. I have been able to gift family and friends with insight in regards to their life’s journey to guide them with messages that have helped them find their own light.

What sets me apart is that although they are two very different businesses, they are both careers that require connections, one more spiritual than the other. I love assisting others to be their best selves, rather in their career or in her personal lives and I’m blessed to be able to cater to either need.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be off when I got my first pet(s), two bunny rabbits. I’d convinced my mom that I needed a companion with a thoroughly written essay about how rabbits were a lot smaller (and easier, lol) than dogs and were a perfect match for my kid lifestyle. We ended up getting the rabbits but I only kept one for a couple of years.
