Today we’d like to introduce you to Charisma Lowe.
Charisma, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a knack for fashion, putting looks together, and creating creative digital content. Thinking back as far as middle school, I had the privilege of being awarded the “best dressed” superlative, even in high school, and all the way up to graduating from the illustrious Clark Atlanta University. It wasn’t until my sophomore year at CAU that I decided to actually create a creative hub for like-minded millennials. Due to a lot of unforeseen circumstances, including having my Canon camera and MacBook stolen, I did not get around to launching The C. Files, a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle creative hub created with millennials in mind, until January 1st, 2017. My main goal for my brand was to generate blog posts, share outfit ideas, and showcase other talented micro influencers. In just a years time, The C. Files has grown tremendously from just a creative hub to a multimedia creative outlet. I am taking things to the next level with the release of my highly anticipated and requested YouTube channel. Social media marketing is something that I’ve been into ever since the MySpace days (I even had my own layout and graphics page), so to be able to combine it with the things I love most mean the world to me.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing worth having will ever come easy. To this day, it is very hard to stay consistent with content while working full-time as well as being a full-time graduate student pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Writing. The road can only be as smooth as I prepare for it to be. In other words, proper planning prevents poor execution.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The C. Files – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
The C. Files is a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle multi-media creative hub. My brand is known for transparent blog posts and YouTube videos, talking about subjects that other millennials can relate to. What I am most proud of is my branding skills. Even when I take hiatuses, I always receive compliments from peers about how well my brand is doing. That warms my heart because sometimes I feel like I’m not doing enough. What sets me apart is the fact that my website is a one-stop shop. Not only do you have access to creative content, created by other like-minded individuals, but I also offer a plethora of graphic design and resume services on my website.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love the best about Atlanta is the number of opportunities. There is always an event going on and the entrepreneurship is so real. What I like the least is the crabs in a bucket mentality. Support is 100% free and showing love to the next person will not dim your light or sparkle. I recently wrote an entire blog post all about this topic for my blog entitled “Nobody Wins When The Family Feuds.”
