Meet Corica Williams of C’s Shoetique and More in Greensboro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corica Williams.

Corica, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I went through a period where nothing looked right on me. No matter what it was that I tried on, nothing looked right. I would receive compliments on how pretty I was, but I didn’t feel pretty at all. The weight gain from my last pregnancy was very apparent and I could not get it to leave. But even though nothing looked right on me, retail therapy was my “thing”. Buying clothes made me feel better. So I thought, there is a woman out there plus size just like me that is feeling the exact same way that I feel. Why not offer items to plus size women that they can look and feel good in! So with my online boutique, I get the opportunity to empower every woman that I come in contact with. I try to present myself as a child of God at every point of contact and my ultimate goal is to empower not only plus size women but all women. Women are magnificent beings! We bring life into the world. Without us the population will cease to exist. So I want every woman to know how magnificent she is, no matter if she is a plus-size beauty. I never want another plus-size woman to feel the way that I felt at that time and it’s my duty to empower other women.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been smooth and I still have a long way to go. Some of my struggles have been maintaining a balance between my home life and managing my online boutique. I’m a mother of two young children so finding a way to give them as much time as they need, being an employee at my other job, and being my own boss is hard to do at times but every day I get the opportunity to learn what’s working, what’s not working, and grow from it.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the C’s Shoetique and More story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in offering apparel for plus size women! Most retailers and online boutiques don’t offer a lot of options for curvy women, so I’m proud to say that at C’s Shoetique and More, “we cater to curves”!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next ten years, we plan to have expanded C’s Shoetique and More into a business that employs at least ten people and to also have brand ambassadors that are wearing C’s Shoetique and More apparel, accessories, and shoes all over the world.
