Meet Michelle Carranza Bishara of C’ranza Designs in North Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Carranza Bishara.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My LOVE for fashion started at the early age of 9yrs old. My maternal grandmother Chita Saleh, whom I was extremely close to, had several fashion fabric stores where I spent much of my youth playing and helping decorate the windows and designing wedding gowns or altering magazine fashion designs to fit our customers body type and style. I learned all about crepe, chiffon, french lace and more. How each texture and color combined can create the most wonderful piece of clothing one special girl will wear and it was custom just for her! It was during those years I learned the true meaning of Custom Made and Handmade! How empowering a few phrases could be and how it can affect fashion. With that in mind, in 1996 I went to fashion Design school. Life happens and was not able to finish my studies in my career of choice, but instead I got a degree in graphic design while attending night school and simultaneously raising my now 20yr old son Franz.

Fast forward 20yrs… I’m happily married with 4 children. My eldest son Franz is now a 3rd yr Georgia Tech college student, Amira (my business partner) age 12 is a 7th grader dreaming of pursuing fashion design, Liam is our 2yrs old rambunctious baby and my 24yrs old stepson Michael.
We are a blessed blended family with ups and downs like any other but with 2 common passions: the outdoors and helping others. Therefore, we built a farm where we spend our weekends with our rescued animals: 5 horses, 5 goats, 16 chickens, 1 dog and a pot belly pig named Bacon.
In between all this and that.. life! Finally in 2016 I retook my individual passion of fashion and ventured in embroidery monogramming and vinyl Art. Simply gifting here and there until my friends, my biggest fans, suggested I started selling my designs etc. After months of hesitation, with my hands full with “life happening” I mustered the courage, got my business license and C’ranza Designs was born on August 2017!
I still needed to find my niche, so organically my designs started to reflect our love for the equestrian and outdoors life.
We also offer custom work. Therefore, all our designs can be personalized. All Vinyl Art is manually weeded and perfectly placed to be heatpressed on each garment, all our embroidery is made with top of the line thread. All made with love and pride in providing quality work that’s not mass produced so there is a touch of uniqueness.
Handmade is our pride!
Our products can be found online at www.cranzadesigns.com and at local festivals that can be found in our website calendar.
We love to help good causes like Save The Horse www.savethehorses.org, our local Sugar Hill- Path Project www.pathproject.org and other causes like Lilys 5K cancer run and more.
Every purchase helps us help others. We believe in paying it forward!
I have been blessed to have the support of my family, friends and customers whom all have become part of our #cranzadesignsfamily.
We are babies in the industry with giant hopes and dreams and much to learn but here to stay! So be on the lookout of our Blue Barn logo, great things to follow and happy smiles all around.

Has it been a smooth road?
Just like any start up business, family owned and operated we’ve had obstacles and struggles. Managing kids, work, marriage, the farm and home schedules hasn’t been easy. From chores, to car riders lanes after school and work deadlines, but it all eventually works out. I’ve had countless sleepless nights working until 5am or 10am next morning right before a show or a big order delivery. Remember, we are still a baby company so all the handmade is done by this mom working hands! Not complaining, it’s been a marvelous ride so far and I wouldn’t change anything!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with C’ranza Designs – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a Country-chic fashion line with an Equestrian and Outdoors focus.

We are known for providing handmade products created with beautiful metallic vinyls, colorful threads and ecofriendly products like conscious organic tote fabrics, cotton t-shirts, burlap, flour sacks etc.

I believe that what sets us apart from other similar business and what we are a proud of is one and the same. We are a handmade fashion line!

We carry apparel, accessories and home decor. Every item is personally handled from conception to delivery, assuring quality and uniqueness. We don’t mass produced. Each design gets to rest after its season is over, so other new designs can take the spotlight. This process provides our clients with a sense of individuality, exclusivity and to be part of the Handmade Artisan movement.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that our city is diverse and its community has developed a sense of earth friendly living. This movement gives us Artisans a chance to shine a bit, in this crazy, fast paced world.

I don’t think there’s anything specifically I dislike. I can say with hand on heart that I love to see the positive in everything and all in all Atlanta is evolving into something great! World Class Great!
