Meet Darlene Bink

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darlene Bink.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have an art degree and two yoga certifications. I’ve been teaching yoga for over 20 years. I have also played around with different art mediums, such as drawing, jewelry, and ceramics. In 2010, I discovered my love for jewelry making. My style is a rustic bohemian. I also discovered my love of acrylic pouring/painting about a year ago. I have an Etsy shop where I sell jewelry and paintings. I teach yoga classes and private sessions locally.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One struggle that I always deal with is people not wanting to pay asking prices for my jewelry and art, and sometimes yoga classes.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I feel like the way I teach yoga and the art I create have much in common. My yoga is natural and rhythmic, my jewelry has a natural, earthy vibe, and my paintings are fluid, and although they are abstract, many of them are inspired by nature.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Being outside at dusk catching lightning bugs.
