Meet DeyJah Malcom-Flynn of PartyingWithDeyJ in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeyJah Malcom.

DeyJah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can remember being a little girl, my mom has always done event planning on the side, it’s what she enjoyed doing. I would go with her to countless events and just watch her set everything up and engage with her clients and when I was allowed to, I would even help. I enjoyed setting the tables up and hand making the centerpieces. One day my mom and I were sitting talking as we normally would and I told her “I think I want to start my own treats and balloon services since I am good at them both” and she responded and said “DeyJah I think that would be a good idea, get you a plan together and make it happen” within two days I got with a graphic designer for my logo, a social media flyer and business card designs. I haven’t looked back since.

Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road at all. I am just getting started but in the past, I did mink lash extensions and even a swimsuit line based in California. Nothing ever comes to you easy but as long as you follow the path that God has set forth for you, you can do anything as long as you stay consistent. Consistency is key. I’ve always wanted to do something that included decorating but never really was consistent or disciplined enough to really go after it so I would always result to quick money instead of going after what i was passionate in. Now that I have found my true passion I would like to get it up and running to the point where I can have a team who travels to the events with me. I want to be so overloaded with events that the entire city of Atlanta and surrounding cities and states knows my company and who I am.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Partying With DeyJ – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
A little insight about my business and what I offer; I make all types of treats such as chocolate covered strawberries, pretzels, Rice Krispies, Oreos and a lot more. I also make caramel candy apples along with the original candy apples in all colors and designs. I make all sorts of balloons as well such as balloon columns, balloon arches and balloon garlands. What I am most proud of would have to be that I am able to work with all kinds of people and different age groups as well. We provide services for all events such as baby showers, wedding receptions, bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, lingerie parties, pop up shops, and birthday parties just to name a few. What sets me apart from other companies is that my goal is to create while watching my clients celebrate. I want to be able to give every client I work with the opportunity of remembering their special day because of my sweets or how beautiful the balloons were.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like best about Atlanta is that it’s so BIG that everyone has a chance to make a living off of any business that they do here. “There’s enough money for us all to win” There’s so many different types of people here in Atlanta that you will always have the opportunity to do something different and never have to worry about your work being repetitive. It’ll always be different colors for my events and different designs for my treats. I love that! Only thing I dislike about our city would have to be the unnecessary traffic that is ALWAYS going on because you have to leave an hour ahead of time to get somewhere that’s only 15 minutes away!
