Meet Diamante Knox of Diamond Lush Collection and Diamond’s Beauty

Hi Diamante, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Diamante. I’m from Miami, FL, a place where people barely make it to see 18. I’ve had a passion for doing hair since I was a little girl. I’ve always loved the beauty of styling hair. I started by braiding my barbie dolls’ hair and advanced to doing hairstyles on family members. I knew I had a God-given gift when I saw the progress in my skills and the feedback I was receiving. I have a cousin who’s a hairstylist as well and she always told me I should go to Cosmetology school to pursue my dream. I was a heavy procrastinator until September of 2019, when I finally took a step out on faith and signed up for Georgia Career Institute, where I pursue being a master cosmetologist. I doubted myself at first but I kept going until I made myself a believer. In the midst of going to school, I gained the courage to start my own cosmetic brand, Diamond Lush Collection and soon to come Diamond’s Beauty Lounge.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey was far from easy. When God first started preparing me for this journey, I was going through some rough times but he used it to make me who I am today. One of the challenges I faced was lack of patience. There was many days were I wanted to give up on my brand because the process seemed so slow and success seemed so far away. I also had to deal with the challenge of rejection. Not everyone I thought would be happy to support me was in my corner, and that lead me to losing hope. Through all the challenges I’ve faced, I’ve learned some valuable lessons and two of the most important lessons are to never give up and have strong faith. Like I previously said, there were many days I wanted to give up; despite that, God always reminded me that I had a purpose and giving up isn’t an option. No matter what challenges you face, your faith will help you endure it all. Never give up on your dreams. Dreams do come true, just not as easy as we would like.

As of now, I am the CEO of Diamond’s Beauty and Diamond Lush Collection. Diamonds Beauty is my hairstylist brand and what I’m mostly known for. I specialize in doing braids, sew-ins, quick weaves, and more, I offer creativity, vision, and skills. My goal is to provide exceptional service to all my clients and build strong relationships. My passion is what sets me aside from others. I do hair based off of my love for it; therefore, I take pride in my craft. My brand has grown a lot which makes me proud because I moved to Georgia and built my own clientele. The feedback I receive from clients lets me know that my brand is making a name for me. Furthermore, I am also known for Diamond Lush collection, which is my cosmetic and accessory brand. The unique thing about my brand is that everything is natural, organic, and handmade by me. I offer women cosmetic products such as lip gloss, body butters, lip balms, body scrubs, and more. I’ve also expanded to providing accessories, including sunglasses and keychains. I’m looking forward to expanding both of my brands more in due time.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The qualities I feel that is most important to my success is patience and commitment. I had to commit to being patient in order to get where I wanted to be. On my path to success, I faced detours, however, I was so committed to reaching my destination that I had to be patient and let God do his work. At times, it was easier said than done, despite that, I couldn’t let myself, my family, or God down. Chasing success comes with a lot of storms but that’s where commitment played a major role in me reaching my success. I knew the storms would end and the light would shine if I kept going. Be patient and stay committed to your dreams and visions.
