Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Problemchild.
DJ Problemchild, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started with music as a young child at the age of four playing the piano. My mother would keep me busy with different sports, playing different instruments, and just keeping me out of trouble. It was not until I got to high school where I fell in love with being a DJ. I started off in a coalition we went by the name 4play DJS. We would host different events around Savannah, GA (high school parties, school pep rallies, college parties, and etc.) Upon graduation, I came to Atlanta, GA to attend Clark Atlanta University. In 2016 I received the DJ of the Year award at the Student Life Awards. I am currently a traveling DJ/producer residing in Atlanta, GA. I have done shows at the SXSW festival and also A3C. I enjoy the come up because it is the best part of my story as a rising DJ.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have had many obstacles along the way. It was not always easy. Some of my struggles involved me not understanding who I was and the ability I’ve had as a dj and what I can do. Doing some events for free until I knew my worth. I always believed I was the underrated DJ. People knew my name by word of mouth and I continue to aspire to become a household name in the future.
Please tell us about DJ Problem Child.
I specialize in Music and video production. I am a Dj producer and engineer and can do just about anything dealing with music and film. I set the bar by diving my musical selection in different genres such as, edm, hip-hop, trap, calypso, reggaeton and etc. My music production and the artist I work with are different I believe everyone will agree. I can make any party the best time they have had in a while. I am your girls favorite dj, Dj Problem Child
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have moved differently and promoted my brand in different ways that I know now. I would have attacked the city of Atlanta before I chose to DJ at Clark Atlanta University.
