Meet DP Ski (Sk-EEE) of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to DP Ski (Sk-EEE).

Hi DP, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Born In Atlanta, Georgia. My parents moved from Baton Rouge, LA which is where all of my family is mainly located. My music journey started early as a kid, always hearing my father play bass guitar alongside with one of my many uncle’s. Growing up raised in Lithonia, GA weekend’s in our household started with cleaning and music, like most homes. My father was this bass playing, computer wiz to me in the 90’s and 00’s. If i had to put a word on it I would say Guru. One random weekend he brought a Yamaha keyboard and built my brother “Johnny HD” and I a computer. When I was about in the 6th grade we downloaded then Fruity-loops (FL Studio) and began creating. If it was not for my brother and my dad I cant say if I would be the producer I am today without them. As we built a name in our circle of friends with production, I felt like all I needed was a name for myself. One day one of my close friends Mr.Famous (Candyman at the time) started calling me RaySki. The name came from radio personality at the time in Atlanta V103’s own, Frank Ski. As the years went by The acronym DP (D.P. or Delbra’s Property) was added to show appreciation to my mother. As time went by graduating high school and becoming an adult while still producing I have lived in Memphis,TN , Savannah,GA and Texas. I traveled the U.S. to may different states and international. Throughout the years I have dropped countless instrumentals and projects, worked with many locals. artist, producers, been in the room with notable individuals and Yes, some of your fav artist and producer’s. The journey is still going to this date and wont stop.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was not easy to get to the point where I am at. To be honest I feel there is a lot more work to be done in order to get point where I see myself in this industry. My cousin “SD3 Dred” always told me that patients is a virtue and it’s only a matter of time because eyes are on me. When my father passed from cancer in 2016 it really affected me in many different ways. Individuals who understand can definitely relate, but I always knew that he would want me to continue what we started and never give up. My number one fan/supporter lives in me and through my 2 son’s Rashad and Roman. Everyday is a grind and no one ever said this road would be easy. When you believe in yourself and have faith, who is there to stop you from success? It’s deeper than music and every day is a challenge in this maze.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music producer. Some genres that I can say interest me are of course Hip-hop and rap, but also R&B and POP. There is no limit to these genres and I can create, tailor this sound of mine and can mold it to any Singer, songwriter or rapper. I have a catalog of beats on all streaming platforms and there will be plenty more to come very soon. I know that the time and sacrifices and many other personal things in my life definitely plays a major part in the reason why I still have the passion for music. This is more than just a man playing keys and banging on a MPC making sound. It’s deeper than beats!

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Im something like a jack of all trades. Overall I have a productive mind that speeds like a Hellcat, so there is always so much in my brain. Im that get dirty fix a car, build a computer, play an instrument, hardworking individual who is always bringing something new out my bag.
