Meet Enrique Holmes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Enrique Holmes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out at the age of three in the children’s choir at my home church, Knox Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. My mother was the choir director, which means that I had no choice but to sing. I’m grateful for it because it was there that I found my love for music, church and most of all God!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The has definitely not been smooth, but it has been worth it. My dad, Apostle Travis Jennings had released the word of the Lord about releasing this CD and sound to the world. He was literally there for me every step of the way. I had moments where I cried, wanted to quit and lose friends. I remember questioning whether or not it was God’s will for me to be doing what I was doing since I was facing so much resistance. My mentor Tasha Cobbs Leonard gave me a word from God that shifted my view on “process.” She told me that the journey to releasing my sound would not be easy, but “Day by Day God would provide everything that I needed.” I wrote a song seconds after that conversation and put it on my album, “Day by Day.” Those words and that song carried me through the process and now I have a testimony of the faithfulness of God.

Enrique Holmes Ministries – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am Youth and Young Adult Pastor who loves this generation. I love serving and assisting in the development of youth and young adults. I love preaching the Gospel and spreading the good news. I sing, write and arrange music. Prophetic worship is one of my strengths. Releasing the sound of heaven and God’s heart is my passion.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
One of the proudest moments of my career so far was being considered and nominated for over 13 awards from my first Cd. These awards included, Stellars, EDDY, and Rhythm of Gospel awards. To make my parents, church, and youth proud was my proudest moment.
