Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Freeman.
Hi Eric , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I came to Atlanta as a teenager and quickly found a home within the city’s vibrant and emerging hip hop culture. Growing up on the Eastside, I graduated high school and went on to attend Georgia Southern before finishing my degree at Georgia State University. Throughout college, I was deeply involved in radio and entertainment—laying the foundation for a career rooted in media, culture, and community.
Professionally, my journey has evolved through various phases of marketing and sales. Today, I serve as an Account Executive with Audacy, working across iconic stations like V-103, 92.9 The Game, Star 94, and WAOK. In my current role, I lead both regional and national campaigns, allowing me to flex my full range of skills while constantly adapting in an ever-changing media landscape.
In recent years, I’ve also become immersed in political marketing, an unexpected but fulfilling extension of my work. I’m passionate about seeing Atlanta support Atlanta and pushing the culture forward. Joining the ABAC Atlanta board this past year has opened new doors—and I’m committed to walking others through those doors as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like anything in life, anything worth having is worth working for. I’ve failed—a lot—but I’ve learned something valuable at every step. Survivor’s remorse and imposter syndrome are real challenges, but I’m grateful to have the support of family, friends, and peers who continue to push me forward. I’ve been hired, fired, and everything in between—and each experience has shaped who I am today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a marketing and media professional focused on creating impactful campaigns across radio, digital, and event platforms. I work on both regional and national levels, helping brands connect with their audience in meaningful ways. A key part of my role is staying ahead of industry trends while also supporting the next generation of talent coming out of Atlanta.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care about whether my clients succeed—something that’s surprisingly rare in this industry. It’s not always about the money; it’s about the impact. I’m equally invested in how these campaigns affect the community, uplift culture, and create lasting value for everyone involved.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m active across social media—feel free to reach out, I’m everywhere. I welcome feedback, love stepping outside of my comfort zone to attend new experiences, and proudly support several charities. If you’re able, I encourage you to support them too.
