Meet Fagan Kennedy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fagan Kennedy.

Hi Fagan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up, my parents always had different jobs than most. My mom is a decorative artist and my dad is a fisherman. It wasn’t until college that I realized I probably was not going to follow in either of my parent’s footsteps because their jobs were unique to them as individuals. But I knew that I would do some unique as well, I just didnt know what that was yet. I graduated from Georgia College in May of 2020. Peak COVID. I moved to Athens, GA and began working for Lululemon and dating my now fiance!! I went back to Macon, GA with him one weekend to visit with his family and go hunting with him. His sister was gearing up to go photograph a wedding and asked me if I wanted to come second shoot for her. This was the day that I fell in love with photography. It wasn’t just taking the pictures… it was interacting with different people, cheering on the bride and groom, and capturing all the real and intimate photos of this person’s most special day. I never thought it would turn into Fagan Kennedy Photography, but I am so thankful that I get to wake up and do something that I love every day. I am proud to say that I have 15 weddings booked this year as the lead photographer and I am so excited to continue cheering people on.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes and No. Of course, starting a business is foreign to someone who has never done it before. I am a creative, so all the textbook and legal things were hard for me to learn and grasp, but ultimately helped me be confident in my business and how I have built it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Wedding + Lifestyle Photographer. I specialize in all things people (families, graduation, engagements, branding). I am known for Weddings in all of Georgia, and love being a part of someone’s special day. What sets me apart from others is my personality. I can command a room with love and make everyone feel included and important.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Well, one day we went from living a normal life to being shut out from the world and quarantined in our homes. It made me realize that life is short, and who is to say it won’t happen again? How can I live every day to the fullest and love people that I wouldn’t be able to if I was stuck inside? This career has allowed me to do that.
