Meet Gianni Lens of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gianni Lens.

Hi Gianni, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started long before titles or credentials—it started with survival, curiosity, and vision. I picked up a camera as a way to document life around me, but it quickly became a language. I taught myself by doing: shooting, editing, failing, re-shooting, studying light, movement, and storytelling obsessively. What began as curiosity turned into discipline.
Over the years, I built my career from the ground up—no shortcuts, no industry handouts. I worked across photography, cinematography, and film editing, eventually becoming a certified film editor and expanding into full-scale visual production. I’ve covered major sports events, worked with high-profile artists, brands, and networks, and built a body of work rooted in authenticity, trust, and execution. My work has been published, broadcast, and credited across multiple platforms, but what matters most is consistency—I show up and deliver.
My path hasn’t been linear or easy. I’ve navigated personal loss, health challenges, motherhood, and rebuilding from scratch more than once. Those experiences sharpened my eye and strengthened my voice. Today, through Gianni Media Group, I operate as a photographer, DP, film editor, and creative director building visual narratives for artists, brands, and organizations that value intention over hype.
I’m still evolving, still learning, and still creating. The goal has never been fame—its legacy. I’m here to tell real stories, create opportunity, and prove that resilience paired with vision is unstoppable.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it’s been anything but smooth. And I don’t romanticize that.
I’ve faced real setbacks that would’ve ended a lot of careers. I survived a stroke after childbirth and have undergone multiple brain procedures since. That forced me to relearn my body, my limits, and my pace—all while still being a mother and provider. Recovery didn’t come with a pause button on life or bills, and it definitely didn’t come with industry grace. I had to rebuild mentally and physically while protecting my children and my vision at the same time.
Professionally, I didn’t come up with a safety net. No silver spoon, no guaranteed access. I funded my own growth, learned by doing, and carried the weight when collaborators, systems, or people didn’t show up the way they promised. I’ve had to walk away from situations that didn’t align with my integrity—even when it cost me financially—because I refuse to build on shaky foundations.
There were also moments of isolation. When you’re resilient, people assume you’re always okay. They don’t see the behind-the-scenes exhaustion, the reinvention, the quiet discipline it takes to keep going when your health, stability, or trust in others has been tested. I’ve had to advocate for myself in medical spaces, business spaces, and creative spaces—often all at once.
But those struggles shaped me. They sharpened my focus, strengthened my boundaries, and gave my work depth. I don’t just document stories—I understand them. Every obstacle forced me to evolve, and every reset reminded me why I started. I’m still standing, still creating, and still building—on my own terms. And that, to me, is the real win.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work spans photography, cinematography, and film editing, with a focus on sports, entertainment, live events, and branded visual storytelling. I’ve filmed and photographed the NCAA 2025 Championship and worked on national campaigns connected to the NCAA Final Four, collaborating with major brands and organizations in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with more than 70 high-profile artists, athletes, and brands across sports, music, and entertainment.
What I’m most proud of is my work within the NCAA space. Covering championship-level events was a defining moment—not just creatively, but professionally. Sports production demands precision, adaptability, and trust, and being selected to operate at that level affirmed my ability to deliver consistently under national-stage pressure.
I’m also proud of my experience developing branded visual concepts that balance storytelling, aesthetics, and intention while respecting client confidentiality. That work sharpened my ability to translate brand identity into visuals without compromising integrity or discretion.
What sets me apart is perspective and execution. I understand the entire process—from capture to post-production—which allows me to create with intention from start to finish. I move with discipline, protect the spaces I’m trusted in, and focus on building work that lasts rather than chasing visibility.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, my focus is on scale, longevity, and impact. I plan to continue expanding my work in sports and branded content, particularly at the championship and national-campaign level, while being intentional about the projects I take on. I’m prioritizing opportunities that allow for creative leadership, not just execution.
I’m also focused on building systems that support sustainability—both creatively and personally. That means refining my workflow, protecting my health and energy, and creating space for mentorship and collaboration. I want to open doors for other creatives who may not have traditional access but have the discipline and talent to perform at a high level.
In the near future, I’m looking forward to developing more original concepts and long-form projects, including branded storytelling and documentary-style work that goes beyond coverage and leaves a lasting imprint. The goal isn’t to do more—it’s to do better, with intention.
The biggest change is alignment. I’m moving into a phase where every project, partnership, and commitment reflects clarity, growth, and purpose. I’m building for the long term—and that’s what excites me most.
