Meet Hannah Tarmoh of Beats by Han

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Tarmoh.

Hi Hannah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started doing makeup 7 years ago in my dorm room in college. At the time, it was just a hobby and a way to stay afloat while in school. Before I knew it, I was the go to girl on campus. I decided to go full time about a year and a half into doing makeup because my clientele just started taking off. I started focusing on my social media presence after that and the growth has just continued to be more than I’d ever imagined.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not an easy road. There were many ups and downs throughout my journey. At one point, I had to start over completely after experiencing a total loss in a house fire. I was working from home at the time, and all of the makeup I had managed to piece together for my kit was gone, along with my personal belongings. I found myself in a very difficult place mentally and questioned whether I wanted to continue doing makeup at all. Despite those challenges, I persevered and stayed committed to my passion. Looking back, that experience became one of the defining moments of my journey, teaching me resilience and proving to me that I could rebuild even after starting from scratch.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a soft glam specialist and beauty entrepreneur with over six years of experience specializing in elevated soft glams and bridal, Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of clients, helping them feel confident and beautiful for some of the most important moments of their lives.

I am most proud of building my business, BeatsByHan, from the ground up and growing it into a recognized brand starting within the DMV area and now beyond. My work has been featured on national platforms, and I have had the opportunity to work with public figures, television personalities, and brides from diverse backgrounds.

What sets me apart is my commitment to creating a personalized experience for every client. I focus not only on delivering high-quality makeup artistry but also on making clients feel comfortable, heard, and confident. My attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to continuous growth have allowed me to build lasting relationships and a strong reputation in the beauty industry.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One thing I would like readers to know is that success rarely happens in a straight line. There were moments when I questioned myself, faced setbacks, and had to rebuild from the ground up. However, every challenge taught me resilience and reinforced my belief that consistency and faith can carry you through difficult seasons.

I am proud of what I have built as a makeup artist, but I am equally proud of continuing to pursue growth through higher education as a dental hygiene student. I hope my journey encourages others to understand that it is never too late to reinvent yourself, chase multiple dreams, or create a life that reflects all of your passions.

Most importantly, don’t be afraid to start before you feel ready. The opportunities, connections, and accomplishments you’re hoping for often come after you take that first step.
