Meet Jakki Lynch of Makeupbyjakki in Stone Mountain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jakki Lynch.

Jakki, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My journey began with my connection with Syretta Bell, who is the Dept Head for Tyler Perry Studios. She had a class called Day Player Bootcamp, which teaches the basics of how to Ethically conduct yourself onset. I was so happy that this class was available for me at this time because it taught me all of the key points of onset ethics and professionalism. Being apart of this class has put me in the forefront of such a great team of Makeup Artists that are very active in their community as working Artists in TV & Film, I’m very lucky to have had this amazing opportunity.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any goal in life that you want to achieve, there will be ups and downs, and the same applies in my journey as a Makeup Artist. Some struggles will be just trying to find work on sets, and meeting other Artists in those Dept Head roles that will allow you to work on production. But I’m grateful for those struggles because they build character and this will follow me throughout my career as an Entrepreneur.

My Company specializes in enhancing the beauty of my Clients, through Makeup Application and Skincare, I’m also a member of the IATSE which is the Local Union 798 of Makeup Artists and Hair Stylist’s in which I provide these services to Talents (Actors & Actress) onset of productions in TV and Film. My Professionalism and beliefs in Ethics set me apart from others in how I treat my clients in either setting.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment for me has been my accomplishment on working onset’s with some great productions with Tyler Perry & Oprah Winfrey, & Ava Duvaney. This was a dream that is now a reality. I know that the best has yet to come because I’ve built a resume which can be seen with my credits on IMDB that has made me very proud and is a stamp of achievement that everyone can see.
