Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamila Chambers.

Hi Jamila, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my Travel Agent business, Seven Sunrises Travel, in connection with creating food content on social media in late 2022. When I moved to Atlanta last summer and learned how many amazing places there were to eat and experience here, I also realized that there are so many other places in this state, this country, and the world that offer amazing culinary and cultural experiences too. I’ve also always enjoyed traveling, seeing new places, and enjoying different kinds of food, so becoming a travel agent not only helps me to learn more about different places to visit but also allows me to help others experience the world too! The name “Seven Sunrises” was inspired by these realizations and passions (along with my adoration for sunrises and sunsets) because every week, we are given seven opportunities to see the sunrise in different places and immerse ourselves in new experiences- so why not take advantage of them?

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like any path you’re new to exploring, it has had its fair share of struggles! With COVID changing the world of travel and interpersonal connection as we knew it, being in the travel industry has been full of adjusting. Between restrictions and requirements, rising prices, and new systems/processes, I have had to be flexible and resilient day by day. However, it all has been worth it as I continue to help people get back into traveling and exploring!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
During the day, I work in public education as a Counselor. But in my spare time, I curate travel experiences for friends and clients, as well as create food content on TikTok and Instagram!

As a Travel Agent, I take the work of research & planning off the plate of my clients so that they can focus on preparing for and fully enjoying their vacation. I offer travel packages for solo trips, girls’/group trips, baecations, and even short weekender trips which can include flights, hotel/resort accommodations, and excursions! My goal as a TA is to find the best deals while also ensuring that my clients have a comfortable, stress-free, and luxurious experience.

As a food content creator, I visit restaurants in Atlanta and wherever I travel to create honest & authentic food reviews for my followers. I LOVE when I can highlight amazing places to visit and eat and also when I can provide others with genuine reviews of the places I go. I feel like food and travel go hand-in-hand, so to be able to provide insight on both of these things that I truly enjoy makes me feel fulfilled!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel like authenticity is the most important quality I have in regard to my success. I pride myself on truly understanding the wants and needs of my clients & followers so that I can provide them with the most meaningful experiences and content. Because I emphasize being available to really connect with travel clients about what they want most out of their vacation, I am able to curate the perfect trip to fit their wants and needs instead of a one-size-fits-all experience for each person/group. Similarly, I feel like those who follow my food content pages know and appreciate that I give real, honest reviews of ALL the places I eat and foods I try. This means everything to me because I want those who trust me with their vacations and their dinner plans to have confidence that I am truly working in their best interest.
