Hi Jasmine, so great to have you join us again. For folks who might have missed our earlier conversations, can you please take a minute to briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Jasmine, friends call me Jas. I’m 25 and a mother of three, I love art, I love makeup. I love being creative and doing out the wall adventurous things in my life.
You’ve been doing make up for about two years now – how has the experience been so far?
When i first started makeup I was so nervous..I was really and still is my BIGGEST critique. Now it’s been two years, I see major improvements in myself and my craft, I feel as though I have more of a hunger and motive behind me now when I do makeup. I LOVE doing makeup I LOVE making women feel sexy and look sexy as well! The experience for me has been great because I meet different people, I network within those people, and I even create with people. The best thing I love doing is trying different creative looks I’m not used to doing so it can push me as an artist, and so far that’s been getting far in where I’m at and I’m beyond grateful for that.
How has make up impacted your life since you got started ?
Makeup has impacted me by improving on my craft itself..I’m more than confident now doing makeup than I ever been before. I love that people come to me loving the way I do makeup, wanting me to teach them because that makes me feel somewhat of an inspiration to some people, you just never know whose watching or who life you have impacted just by you doing what you love.
How was it doing make up during your pregnancy?
Whew, my pregnancy has really motivated me to go super hard in the makeup game! Honestly, ALL of my favorite looks have been the looks I’ve did while being pregnant and I can’t help but be proud of myself. I thought being pregnant would get in the way of my dream but it hasn’t, it’s actually motivated me more to do what I love and helped me get more creative with what I do. I’m grateful for this little in me, we’re nine months as of now. My back and body has been on fire but the looks come out fire 🔥 lol.
How has the pandemic affected your work?
To me nothing can affect my work, not a pandemic, not the season, NOTHING. Because even if business is slow it’s gives me the opportunity to get creative, it motivates me to keep improving on my skills; so either way I’m still working.
What has changed industry wise relative to when you were just first starting out in makeup?
When I first started doing makeup I really didn’t have much knowledge in the industry as of now I’m more disciplined on my rules and regulations, my standards, what Audience I’m aiming for, being firm on my prices and my work.
What’s next in your journey ? Do you have more goals in mind?
I want to improve more on my makeup skills. I want to own properties and create generational wealth within myself and my family. I want to mentor younger women and men who are less guided.. I want my own makeup boutique, I just want to be a boss in anything I do and succeed in it.
It was so great to reconnect. One last question – how can our readers connect with you, learn more or support you?
