Meet Juliet Hall of Own Your Opportunities™

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliet Hall.

Juliet, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a graduate of Spelman College (BA) and The University of Georgia (MBA). For 20 years, I worked for two Fortune 500 companies–Wachovia Bank and the Chick-fil-A Support Center. My background is mostly in operational services and consulting to franchises, but I also have experience in marketing and community affairs. While grateful for the tremendous opportunities, gainful employment and global exposure I received, I realized that the corporate system was no longer a fit for me. I felt like I could no longer ascend nor engage in a structure where I could not appreciably utilize my giftedness.

Now, I am a self-employed inspirational speaker, career coach and writer with a self-empowerment and leadership perspective. I created the platform and message, Own Your Opportunities™, to mobilize and inspire courage to individuals to discover themselves, pursue purpose and shine in their own unique giftedness.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Before I left Corporate America, I made sure I had a plan, and that plan included:

1- Aligning myself spiritually for direction and clarity of my own purpose and vision
2- Developing a team of associates who could provide support and intellectual capital to help me build a brand based on my vision
3- Being in a position financially to start my business

Knowing that I would eventually work for myself, I prepared for this transition for two years before leaving Corporate America. Now that I am in the full swing of my own business, the biggest challenge I have is celebrating my small victories. I beat myself up sometimes if I feel like I’m not productive or if I don’t see momentum. I have to remind myself that pyramids are built one block at a time and that small victories are, in fact, signs of progress and positive momentum.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Own Your Opportunities™ – what should we know?
I am a speaker, writer and career coach. My first-hand perspectives bring to life topics of self-empowerment, career motivation, servant leadership and entrepreneurship. What makes my platform different is that it is rooted in a conviction that we do not need anyone’s permission to seize the moment and be who we are. My message is about exercising your leadership through serving your gifts, not learning techniques as a leader to control people.

Own Your Opportunities™ is a self-empowerment message that encourages individuals to leverage their value. It’s the moment you know you have the right talent to drive results. Self-empowerment can begin anytime, anywhere – attracting greater visibility, more options, greater responsibility, and increased engagement because the starting line is yours.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I believe in teamwork. I work with people who share my values and who are specialized in what they do; I submit to their expertise. They include my marketing consultant, digital marketing manager, legal advisor, CPA, and literary agent. They do what they do so that I can focus on building my content for presentations as well as for writing my book.

I also have a few wise mentors and coaches who not only provide encouragement but also guidance. I read a lot of books, too, to continually build up my reservoir of knowledge.
