Meet Kaelin Lee of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaelin Lee.

Hi Kaelin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got into floristry while trying to find a hobby to create a better work life balance for myself. I have always made arrangements for my home but started to truly focus on learning from several florists in the area and attending workshops. I started off by posting my arrangements and after a while I began to receive order inquires. That’s the super short version.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Things have been relatively smooth but there’s always a learning lesson in everything. Mistakes that are made that I can take and readjust. My biggest struggle right now I would say is being comfortable enough to charge what my work is worth or fearing that others may not see the value in everything that goes into floral design.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a florist that currently specializes in weddings and events, though I still produce dailies (just because flowers, birthdays, etc.) I will gradually be making a transition into more sculptural pieces and true floral design and installations. I’m known for an avant garde style of floral design, focusing more so on premium florals, shape and texture. I am most proud of the fact that I just finished a course at Madrid Flower School this month (June), what I’ve learned in the program will help me get to my goal of becoming an installation artist.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
