Meet Kameron Jackson of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kameron Jackson.

Hi Kameron , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Kameron J. Jackson (23 yrs old), though most people know me simply as “Kam”. I’m from a small coastal county named, “McIntosh County” located in Darien, GA. Growing up in a small town taught me that where you start doesn’t have to determine where you finish. My passion for storytelling and creating didn’t truly come alive until the end of my junior year, going into my senior year of high school. Even though I had a strong interest in acting, modeling, and storytelling, attending college wasn’t originally part of my plan. After graduating high school in May 2021, I was convinced I would take a different path.

Then something unexpected happened, Between May and August of that year, I experienced what I can only describe as a divine shift in direction. I woke up one morning with a strong desire to pursue higher education, It was such a sudden change that I genuinely thought something was wrong with me because my mindset was completely altered overnight. Looking back, I believe the Lord was redirecting my steps and preparing me for a purpose I couldn’t fully see at the time. Furthermore, that decision lead me to enroll at Full Sail University in the Fall of 2021, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Film & Television. After an accelerated journey, I graduated in the Spring of 2024, equipping me with the technical, creative, and leadership skills needed to advance in the entertainment & media industry while strengthening my passion for visual storytelling.

Throughout that journey, I found inspiration in storytellers like Lena Waithe and Tyler Perry, whose work has had a profound influence on my creative vision. What I admire most is their ability to tell authentic, culturally significant stories that not only entertain but also spark meaningful conversations and leave a lasting impact. Watching their journeys has inspired me to think beyond creating content and instead focus on building stories that genuinely resonate with people and contribute to the culture. One of my greatest aspirations is to meet them both someday and have the opportunity to collaborate with them on projects that inspire, challenge, and positively impact audiences around the world.

About 10 months after graduating college, I took a leap of faith and founded Horizon Media & Co., a multi-platform entertainment and media company created with the vision of reshaping the entertainment industry. My goal was never just to create another production company, but to build a platform that produces impactful storytelling through film, photography, and digital content that inspires, informs and entertains audiences around the world. Currently, Horizon Media & Co. is in its infrastructure and pre-launch phase as we prepare for our official launch in the coming months. This season has been focused on building the foundation, developing the systems, establishing our brand identity, and creating the framework necessary to grow into a global media company.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Oh, absolutely not. The seat of entrepreneurship and leadership doesn’t mean the absence of struggle. If anything, it often means being introduced to a different level of responsibility and pressure. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout this journey is that having a vision doesn’t mean everything will immediately come together. There have been moments of uncertainty, moments where I’ve had to make difficult decisions, and moments where I’ve had to continue moving forward without holding all the answers. Building anything from scratch requires patience, discipline, faith, and the willingness to stay committed even when the results aren’t visible yet.

One of the my biggest challenges has been learning how to transition from being a creative with a vision into becoming a leader who is responsible. It has not only challenged me professionally but personally, it has required me to grow in my mindset, leadership abilities, and the ability to trust the process. However, throughout all the challenges I’ve encountered there was a revelation I discovered: “Struggle is NOT a sign that you’re on the wrong path; sometimes it’s confirmation that you’re being prepared for what you’re asking for.” The road hasn’t been easy, but I wouldn’t trade the lessons, growth, and experiences that have come with it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in cinematic storytelling through film, television, photography, and digital media. My work is centered around creating visuals that do more than capture moments, they communicate emotions, tell meaningful stories, and create memorable experiences.

What I believe sets me apart is my approach to storytelling. I don’t just focus on the technical side of production; I focus on the purpose behind the story and how it connects with the audience.

I’m most proud of my ability to see a vision before it exists and begin bringing that vision to life. Whether it’s developing a concept, creating a visual experience, or building something from the ground up. I’m passionate about creating work that inspires, impacts, and stands the test of time.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Wisdom Nugget: “Every vision requires provision!”

One thing I’ve learned is that having a vision is only the beginning. A vision requires preparation, discipline, and the willingness to develop yourself into the person capable of carrying it. Sometimes, the resources, opportunities, and connections you need don’t appear all at once, but that doesn’t mean you stop moving forward. When starting out, don’t allow the lack of immediate results to make you question the purpose behind your vision. Focus on building the foundation, improving your skills, and being willing to learn through every season.
