Meet Keri-Ann Lofton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keri-Ann Lofton.

Keri-Ann, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My greatest aspirations are to defend and advocate for innovations that promote wellness in our society. After completing a Research Assistant position for my law school’s first Cannabis Law class, I recognized the direct demand for inclusion and representation of women in the cannabis industry. It is from my passion for cannabis and desire to blaze a trail within this niche practice area that Happy Wellness Solutions was born.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not, it is my first business venture and I’m also a full time graduate student. I had to learn through experience about certain things. However, my background as a law student has helped to keep me informed of all the changes in cannabis law. There was a period when I had to pull certain products off of the shelf until the FDA clarified their restrictions. We always want to remain in compliance and offer top quality products.

Tell us more about the business.
Happy Wellness Solutions offers hemp extracts and CBD products. CBD is short for cannabidiol, a compound found inside of the hemp plant. Hemp, not to be confused with marijuana is a term used to classify cannabis containing 0.3% or less THC. Here at Happy Wellness Solutions, we offer hemp and CBD infused products that can be consumed to relieve many common ailments. Our products include pain creams, muscle relief balms, as well as processed hemp which can be smoked to relieve body aches.

What distinguishes us from other CBD companies is our attention to detail, high quality extracts, and knowledgeable sales associates known as “Happy Hempers.” Our beloved Happy Hempers are eager to guide you towards products that will relieve your specific needs.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Wow, I don’t believe in luck. I’d say a string of unfortunate events redirected me to my passion. In 2016 I was attending Charlotte School of Law on a full merit scholarship. In the fall of that year, the school unexpectedly closed and left me to forge a new path. I found myself working in California where I was introduced to the cannabis industry. I was amazed by how the law intertwined with cannabis and saw myself helping people through this practice area. I returned to the east coast and put my plan in motion.
