Today we’d like to introduce you to Kierstyn Alysse.
Hi Kierstyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started off as an artists, singer-songwriter in my hometown Memphis, Tn. I was in musical theatre plays such as The Wiz, Lion King, and Annie at the age of 7. By attending performing arts schools such as Colonial Middle School and Overton High School, I was able to acquire skills in creative writing, piano, and vocal music. In addition to that, I attended Stax Music Academy, where I performed with live bands and developed techniques of doing live shows, production, and music theory. During my time at Stax I worked with and received knowledge from creatives like Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and Danja. At the age of 15 I was co-writing songs for Artist in the Memphis area.
I released my first single at the age of 17 after being chosen for an 8-week workshop with Justin Timberlake. As a result of the workshop I received great feedback from Justin Timberlake, which gave me the opportunity to be featured in news publications such as Daily Memphian, Commercial Appeal, and news channel 5 and 3. Such opportunities along with creators that staff at Stax brought in , introduced me to other positions within the music industry. I begin to explore public relations after reading press releases, which encouraged me to write artist bios and help other artist achieve their goals. Throughout this time I was already a published journalist for awe Are Memphis Music and several other publications which allowed me to learn more about the relationship between journalists and publicists. I was also able to interview artists for the article while simultaneously discovering what an artist needs from managers and assistance to be successful.
Now I am focusing heavily on managing and offering public relations services to independent musicians through my Music agency, For The Entertainers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road was definitely not easy. A part of my reasoning for exploring other careers was not only because of my interest in PR but also because of the confidence barriers I’ve faced during my teen years.
Growing up I was very confident in my talent and abilities, however I experienced a phase where I was less vocal and more shy to express my creativity. However, those barriers allowed me to find a new interest and truly find my purpose which I believe is helping artists reach their full potential.
We’ve been impressed with For The Entertainers , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For The Entertainers is a music agency that focuses on offering services such as management, marketing, PR, artist bios, live show assistance, copyright assistance, distribution, and more to independent creatives. The music agency also offers sessions called Artist to Artist to provide music business knowledge to artists who are just starting their journey as an artist.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was very confident and creative. I loved creating dances for my cousins to do at family events and I was always a strategic planner. I enjoyed planning decorations for my room, performance opportunities, and recreating outfits of the artists that I love. I enjoyed creating clothes and doing DIY projects on outfits for performances and events. Early on I focused on creating a budget for myself, and planning. I attended academy’s that allowed me to focus on music since 7 such as Young Actors Guild & Stax Music Academy. My first introduction to performing in front of hundreds of people was my Aunts wedding at the age of 4. My mom, aunt, and uncle were the first to learn of my love for music.
