Meet Lateasa Polito of Polito Creative & Co in College Park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lateasa Polito.

Lateasa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I’ve always been a creative person, spending most of my youth drawing and painting everything I saw. I went to college and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Art & Design and a Masters in Computer Science. I’ve worked in the industry ever since. From being one of the most sought after designers for promotional events and soirees in Chicago, Technology Director for a youth facility, Marketing Director over an architecture firm, to being lead designer over multi-million dollar government contracts and managing creative teams in Corporate America, I have done it all!! In 2014, three years after the birth of my first son, I made the decision to form my own company. I wanted to get back to my creative roots and service businesses that could use my level of expertise to grow and scale their businesses.

Has it been a smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth role. I formed my company as a single mom when my son was three years old. It was challenging because as much as I wanted to be in the trenches with my head in the sand. I still wanted to be the mom I wanted to be for my son. That was very important for me! Part of the reason why I decided to work for myself was that I wanted to be in control of my time and not have my son spending most of his time in aftercare. A lot of sleepless nights! ALOT! Some tears and a few bottles of wine and I’m still here, lol. Now a mother of two boys ages 9 and 3, my goal of being the type of mother I wanted to be and providing quality design to my clients has remained the same.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Polito Creative & Co story. Tell us more about the business.
My company is called Polito Creative & Co. we speak your customer’s language through captivating visuals. We translate your brand messaging into a visual storyboard that attracts, excites, engages and converts on social. We are your design partner. My goal was to create an environment where small businesses welcomed PC&Co as their virtual design department.

We specialize in Digital Branding, Branding, Strategy, Marketing & Communications and Tech Support. I am most proud of PC&Co attention to quality design and customer experience. What sets us apart is our ability to understand our client’s needs and deliver the first time around.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see our industry thriving. Living through this pandemic has been very challenging. But the world still needs and will always need creatives. For PC&Co, an educational component will be developed to assist other creatives in how to best structure their own design businesses. Creative Health is also very dear to my heart so educating others on how to avoid burnout and creative self-care.
