Meet Luke Rovner of National

Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Rovner.

Hi luke, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The three of us (Greg, Rocky & Luke) are transplants living in Savannah, Georgia. We each were in bands and projects throughout our lives all across the country – and when we moved to Savannah, we found each other and immediately clicked musically.

Our most recent post-rock project is named moonswimmer and are currently in the studio recording an album. Our first singles are to be released this summer, 2026.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Writing together has always flowed since the first days we met to jam. We feed off each other’s energy and ideas, both in practice and writing. While our influences may be different, our styles overlap in really fun ways, so we always find paths to cohesively blend our ideas.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We’re seasoned musicians that truly enjoy writing and playing together. We have fun on and offstage, and love playing original music out live as much as possible.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our partners, families and friends – letting us spend as much time writing and playing together, as well as supporting us all the time. Coming to shows, sharing their skills to help us in any way they can.
