Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndsey Coates.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi, I’m Lyndsey Coates—wife, mom of three, REALTOR®, and a relentless advocate for my community here in Roswell.
Family is my foundation. I’m raising two teenage boys and a spirited preschooler alongside my husband Chris, and they keep me grounded, motivated, and laughing daily. They’re also the reason I show up the way I do—in my career, in schools, and in the community. I want my kids to grow up seeing what it looks like to lead with purpose, empathy, and action.
Professionally, I built my real estate business after years in corporate marketing and mortgage lending, combining those skills to help families find homes—and to negotiate hard when they need a fighter on their side. I’m proud to serve my clients with transparency, strategy, and heart, because every home is more than a transaction. It’s a new chapter.
My roots in this community run deep. I’ve served as PTA President at Vickery Mill Elementary, VP of Fundraising at Mountain Park, VP of Roswell Soccer Club, and President of Roswell NEXT a civic engagement group. Whether I was building out a brand new PTA, hosting municipal candidate forums, or planning fundraisers, I did it because I believe all these groups build strong communities.
That belief drove me to run for Roswell City Council in 2023 and the Fulton County School Board in 2024. I didn’t win—but I did ignite a conversation about accountability, representation, and what it means to truly serve. And that mission is far from over.
I also helped found Roswell Women Rising (RoWR) earlier this year, a grassroots movement of 450+ purpose-driven women working to build a stronger, more inclusive community through civic engagement, advocacy, and connection—starting right here at home.
Additionally, I’ve co-founded North Fulton Forward (NFF) a nonpartisan political organization made by and for the residents of North Fulton County. We work to elect our neighbors to office who will fight for good governance practices: anti-corruption, transparency, forward-thinking economic growth, and protecting our unique natural resources.
Through every campaign, showing, meeting, and moment—I’ve stayed committed to one thing: showing up. For my family. For my neighbors. For the future we deserve.
And I’m just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running for office sounds noble. And it is. But what most people don’t see is how isolating and uphill it can feel—especially when you’re doing it without a political machine, party infrastructure, or deep-pocketed backers.
When I ran for Roswell City Council and later for Fulton County School Board, I wasn’t a career politician. I was a working mom with a full plate and a fire in my gut to make things better. What I quickly learned is that wanting to serve and getting elected to serve are two very different things.
One of the biggest hurdles? Voter turnout.
Municipal elections in Georgia are held in odd-numbered years—when no one’s paying attention. In Roswell, turnout in these elections is abysmal. We’re talking 10–12% of registered voters showing up to decide the future of our city. That’s not democracy. That’s a handful of people making big decisions for all of us.
Add to that a toxic political environment—Roswell has become a microcosm of the national dysfunction. Vitriol, misinformation, and manufactured outrage dominate online forums and public comment sessions. It’s hard to get through the noise, even when your message is grounded in common sense, accountability, and solutions.
And let’s be real: running as a woman—especially a progressive woman with no political safety net—is no small feat. You face scrutiny for how you speak, how you dress, how you parent, and whether you dare to have a career at all. I had to learn to campaign while raising kids, juggling work, and managing the emotional toll of being under constant public inspection. It’s not just hard—it’s exhausting.
But here’s the thing: I wouldn’t take any of it back. Because those challenges are exactly why I helped launch North Fulton Forward.
We needed an organization that could cut through the noise, educate voters, and support real leaders—people with integrity, not just connections. NFF exists to build infrastructure where there wasn’t any. To train future candidates, challenge the status quo, and empower voters to pay attention to the decisions being made closest to their front doors.
We’re not here to play politics. We’re here to build a better bench, tell the truth, and hold people accountable—no matter their party. Because we’re tired of watching smart, capable, ethical candidates burn out just trying to be seen.
This work is personal for me. Because I’ve lived every single obstacle. And now, I’m using that experience to pave the way for the next person bold enough to step up.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a purpose-driven REALTOR® with Bolst, I don’t just help people buy and sell homes—I help them build better lives. With a background in marketing and mortgage lending, I bring both strategy and heart to every transaction.
What sets me apart? I lead with transparency, strong advocacy, and a deep commitment to my clients and community. I’m not just here for the closing—I’m here for the big picture: stability, opportunity, and legacy.
Partnering with Bolst means I get to align my business with my values. Every closing helps fund local nonprofits, and I stay hands-on in choosing causes that matter—like housing security, education, and equity.
In a market that can feel chaotic, I’m the steady hand and straight shooter clients trust to get them home—literally and figuratively.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
