Meet Makayla Carter of Kaynaturalz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla Carter.

Makayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my business in August 2019. I launched because I was always someone who had struggled with acne, dark marks, and hyperpigmentation. Being a young adult, this had made me insecure and often hated my skin. I would start looking up remedies online, trying the craziest products you could think of. But nothing helped. I then decided to do my own research and create my very own skincare products for those who may be struggling with the same skincare issues I was. Doing so was very difficult and pretty much trial and error along the way. Sooner or later, I was able to launch “Kaynaturalz” a black-owned skincare line designed to help and treat all skin types. My ultimate goal is to make everyone feel beautiful and proud in their own skin. Starting out wasn’t always easy though, I had days where I didn’t get any orders at all and days where I got over 10+. With that being said, those slow days only make me go harder! All I am saying is never give up on yourself and your dream. Create something you are proud of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles that I had along the way was getting a kick start. Of course, my first day of launching was pretty successful due to family members and friends, but days after I didn’t get any sales. This lasted almost about a month or so. Once this happened I simply started to promote my brand even more. Why? because people are ALWAYS watching!

My business is an organic skincare line designed to help treat those with dark marks, hyperpigmentation, acne, and scarring. All of my products are made from 100% all-natural ingredients as well. I specialize in treating the skin and keeping it healthy all year round. What sets me apart from others is my drive. I am driven to continue my business because I know what it’s like to hate your skin and suffer from acne. Knowing what I have gone through only keeps me motivated to continue to help others daily. I am most proud of my name, a lot of people know who I am and what I am and I only plan to broadcast it around the world.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The biggest lesson that I have learned along my journey is never to give up. All of your slow days will go away in no time. Never give up on something you love. Remember why you started and continue to finish strong.
