Meet Mignonna Vickers of Faith Tax Solutions in Jonesboro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mignonna Vickers.

Mignonna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Faith Tax Solutions was created in July 2016 as a sole propetier after receiving a notice from my supervisor that my department was closing. This tore me apart one because I have never been let go from a company before.Two my faimly was another one of my major concerns. Having all of these thoughts of how I may have failed, I called my mom and finacee’ and cried on the phone to them both. My mother gave me encouraging words of wisdom and after speaking with her I called my fiancee. He quickly got me together as well by saying “remember who you are and the gift that you have we will be okay”, this soothed me at the moment. But, I still had to think of a master plan of how I could fulfill my passion in helping people with there tax returns and saving money. So no later than three weeks I named my company, got my ein number, called the irs along with doing other reserach to open my own tax office. By December of 2016 I was a full virtual tax office that really didn’t know where my clients would come from. I was not that popular on social media and I kept my personal life very private but,for those who know me can honsetly say that I am very talktive and a fun caring person to be around. My mother began to share my company information with her friends and so did my fiancee. I began to market as well and talk about my company. My friends supported me and told their friends etc. As of today I have helped over three hundred plus people file there individual and small business tax returns, proplery pay back the irs for those clients who owed previous debt, fix their credit score, create a savings for emergency and travel. This was no easy task and my clients had to trust me as I had trust in them as well. With building business relationships my company began to sore and pull in clients from all states. I beleive this happen for only two reason, God allowed and my clients trusted me so they began to share with their friends and family as well.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
This has not been a smooth ride at all during the beginning because I felt as though I was not ready to have my own business during that time. I hold an assoicaite of applied science degree in Networking System Administration from Devry University.Nothing of that reads or will talk about having your own business. Spending many late night hours on the computer and holding for sometimes hours on the phone to talk to an interal reveue service representative to find out what I need would take up my entire day. At the time I relied on people paying me after they received their refund deposits. People would run off and not pay me at all and their was nothing I could do at the time because I didn’t know the banking side.

Faith Tax Solutions – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Faith Tax Solutions LLC is a year around tax office that offers personal and virtual assistance in completing individual and small business tax returns. While also offering notary, financial consultaiton, virtual adminstrative assistance and small business startup service. Our office specializes in perparing tax records for individual and small business. Our office is known for assisting and providing the education to our clients on their finances for personal and business growth. I am most proud of this company continuing to grow and educate everyone that calls us. What sets us apart from the most common tax office is that I have worked with the state revenue and was trained by a previous irs aduitor, I educate all of my clients on their taxation needs, I believe that sharing knowledge with someone helps get them ahead in life. This would be the greatest gift a business owner could have. Knowledge is power and the lack of knowledge will hold a person back if they are not educated properly on it.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is not quiting at what you started. I have failed within building my company and have been in the same room with people who said that I would not succed or in an attempt to hold me back me from getting to the next level. There was a a poem from an unknown author called don’t you quit. As a child my mother had this poem in the kitchen where I would was dishes and would read this poem every time I was at the sink washing my hands , cleaning the dishes or mopping the floor. Success I understood that I couldn’t quit because if I did I would not make it to the end. Quitting made me realize that it was very much related to failure and success was related to keeping things going even when the road got heavy and hard.
