Meet Miles Barner

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miles Barner.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I feel the best way I can put this is that I am just me (lol). Miles “7even” Barner, the polymath, artist, friend, thinker, etc. etc. I’ve wondered who or what I should be for my entire life while also feeling boundless in that potential. I spent most of my time trying to fit whatever would keep those around me happy. At 27, I understand that I have to just be everything that I believe I am and truly love everything! I want to have fun and create and I want to help the world to do the same!

Oh, I was born in Panama City, Florida. I’m a “military brat”. blah blah. I moved to Georgia when I was seven years old. I’ve made art since I was a child but didn’t really care until attending SCAD. blah blah. Founder of The-7th, LLC, Co-Owner of Studio 303.

Please tell us about your art.
I’ve done printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and graphic design. Currently, I tattoo, paint, and do digital illustration. I like the contrast these all have with each other despite the similarities. I think they provide a balance to me as well. Tattooing is for others (I love the friends and potential partners I make and the stories that come with tattoos). Painting is for myself (I typically paint about humanity and personality). Digital illustration is just absolute fun! I’m honestly inspired by everything. I appreciate life enough to take in so much and that pushes me. I think the biggest message behind anything I create is for the viewers/recipients to know themselves more.

Even the art forms that I do strictly for my enjoyment reflect my feelings on humanity and life.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
The best advice I could give is to never act without fullness of heart. If you don’t really love it……STOP. Don’t change yourself to fit any standard that doesn’t align with you fully. Don’t make a machine of yourself! Inspired work>Hard work.

I wish I would have really gotten the lesson down to be who I am regardless of outside thought, enjoy every second of life and creation and limit those distractions!

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My Instagram @_7arts is the best way to see any work I do. I created the @digicember page for digital artwork. I also have some work on my society six pages www.society6.com/sir7even.
